No further information.
Interfaith Council
Chairman Tolbert reported the Interfaith Council will sponsor the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in May. The
Chairman will continue to attend the Interfaith Council meetings and report to the Commission.
Commissioner Muench provided the Board with a review of the Interfaith Council's decision not to
proceed with the program "A Day of Spiritual Awareness, Spirituality and Health." This program was
sponsored by the Des Plaines Ministerial Council and held at the Des Plaines Public Library.
V. NEW BUSINESS
Due to the recent resignation of Ms. Fuller, the Chairman asked if anyone had a suggestion for a possible
replacement. Commissioner Parikh mentioned looking to the Interfaith Council for a replacement.
Commissioner Muench suggested Reverend Rick Kessler, who is forming the outreach activities at South
Beach Church. The Chairman will communicate this information to the Mayor.
Commissioner Parikh brought up the topic of working with the Interfaith Council on activities, possibly a
Forum on Racism. Chairman Tolbert replied it would be a good idea to work through the Interfaith
Council, but they did not appear willing and they do have other responsibilities. Commissioner Muench
mentioned the possibility of working on activities at the Library and that she had hoped the Commission
would be more active.
Deputy Chief Semkiu provided the Commission with information on the Village's outreach facility,
tentative opening date and staffing. The outreach center may provide an opportunity for the Commission
