AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT ZONING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, the Zoning Commission of the Village of
Mount Prospect at a public meeting duly called and held
according to law, considered the question of amending Sec-
tion 7 B District; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Commission, after holding
the said public meeting according to law, and after all
persons who desired to be heard at said public meeting
were heard and were provided an opportunity to make such
remonstrances, statements, objections and express such
opinions as anyone in attendance so desired; and
WHEREAS, the said Zoning Commission thereupon,
after taking the matter under advisement, have concluded
that it is in the best interests of the Village of Mount
Prospect in the conservation of property values and for
orderly development of the Village that Section 7 B Dis-
trict be amended in order to establish three business uses
in lieu of the present single business use now set forth
in said Section 7, and said Zoning Commission by letter
dated July 9, 1957 did so recommend such action to the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities, after consi-
dering the recoramendation of the Zoning Commission and
after consideration of the said recommendation by the
Judiciary Committee of the Board of Trustees and upon their
recommendation do hereby determine and find that it would
be in and for the best interests of the Village of Mount
Prospect in the conservation of property values and for

the orderly development of the Village and in the interest
of the general welfare, safety and health of the residents
of the Village of Mount Prospect that new use districts be
established in lieu of the present B District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That an ordinance entitled, IlAn Ordi-
nance classifying, regulating and restricting the location
of trades and industries and the location of buildings de-
signed for specified uses; regulating and limiting the
height and bulk of buildings hereafter erected or altered,
regulating and limiting the intensity of the use of lot
areas and regulating and determining the area of yards,
courts and other open spaces within and surrounding such
buildings; establishing the boundaries of districts for the
said purposes; and prescribing penalties for the violation
of its provisions" passed and approved December 4, 1923, and
amendments thereto (and known as Ordinance No. 52) as amended,
be further amended by repealing Section 7 B District and by
replacing said Section 7 B District with the following sec-
tions which shall hereafter be, and the same shall be known,
as follows:
IlSection 7.1. B-1 District.
In the B-1 District the only uses which may
hereafter be established are:
1. Uses permitted in the R-X, R-l, R-2 and
R-3 Districts;
2. Shopping Center with an adjoining paved
off-street parking area to provide four
(4) square feet of parking area for
everyone (1) foot of floor area in the
said shopping center."
"Section 7.2. B-2 District.
In the B-2 District, the only uses which may
hereafter be established are:
1. Uses permitted in the B-1 District;
2. Professional or business office;
3. Village hall, police or fire station, or
other municipal building."

If Section 7.3. B-3 District.
In the B-3 District the only uses which may
hereafter be established are:

Uses permitted in the B-2 District;
Lodging house or hotel, with sleeping
rooms in number not exceeding one (1)
for each five hundred (500) feet of
lot area;
Retail business and retail servi1r
establishment except uses 2 to l~
inclusive of Section 8;
Animal hospital;
Retail greenhouse or nursery;
Restaurant, tavern or confectionery;
Undertaking or funeral parlor;
Advertising sign, billboard or poster
panel;
Private music, dancing, business, voca-
tional or other school or college;
Lodge hall, temple or private club;
Commercial swimming pool;
Theatre or commercial amusement place;
Bus passenger station;
Temporary carnival or circus, operating
not longer than ten (10) days;
Parking lots for private self propelled
passenger automobiles in operating condi-
tion. "

Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law;
Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed reserving, however, to the Village of Mount Prospect
any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm
or corporation under any ordinances or sections of said Zon-
ing Ordinance which may be and are hereby repealed.

Gentlemen:
On behalf of the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, I am
happy to accept unconditionally the provisions of an ordinance
entitled "An Ordinance granting to the Illinois Bell Telephone
Company, its lessees, successors and assigns, certain rights in the
Village of Mt. Prospect, Cook County, Illinoisll.
This ordinance was passed by the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mt. Prospect on August 13th, 1957, and approved by the
Acting President thereof on the same day.
We sincerely appreciate your help in working out the
arrangement.
