AN ORDINANCE TO RESCIND SECTION 3.110
OF CHAPTER 3 AND TO AMEND SECTION 4.603
OF CHAPTER 4 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT OF 1957 AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village
of Mount Prospect have determined that it is in the best
interests of the Village of Mount Prospect that the Village
Treasurer perform the duties of Village Collector, and that
it is further in the best interests of the said Village to
avoid any ambiguity as to the past, present or future
responsibilities of the Village Clerk in this respect and
to proclaim approval of the practice of the Village Trea-
surer carrying out the responsibilities of Collector for
said Village,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 3.110 of Chapter 3 of
the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended,
be and the same is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
Section 2: That Section 4.603 of Article VI
of Chapter 4 of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of
1957, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended to
and shall hereafter read as follows:
"Section 4.603 General Duties. The
Treasurer shall perform such duties as may be
prescribed for him by statute or ordinance.
In addition to other duties the Treasurer shall
act as Village Collector and perform all duties
of such Collector as may be prescribed by sta-
tute or ordinance and shall preserve all warrants
returned to him. He shall receive all money paid
into the Village whether directly from the person
paying the money or from the hands of such other
officer or employee as may receive it, and he
shall payout money only on vouchers or orders
properly signed by the President and Clerk, and
shall perform such other duties as may be re-
quired by the Village Manager.1I

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law.
Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Pros-
pect any rights which have accrued to it against any person,
firm or corporation under any ordinance or sections of
ordinances which may be and are hereby repealed.
