1 CHAIRMAN POWERS CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 5:45 PM AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
CONFERENCE ROOM

3 APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3.1 Special meeting minutes of May 20, 2026, May 21, 2026, and June 15, 2026—
Commissioner Bork made a motion to approve the minutes of May 20, May 21, and June 15, 2026, and
Commissioner Busse seconded the motion. Motion Unanimously Approved
4 CITIZENS TO BE HEARD — No one in attendance.
5 FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE —
Chief Wang updated the Board on the following:
✓ The tower ladder is now in operational service
✓ The FD will be hosting a showcase on September 12th at Randhurst
6 POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE-7
Chief Eterno updated the Board on the following:
✓ National Night Out is August 4th at Gregory Park from 5:30pm-8:30pm
7 CLOSED SESSION —CHAIRMAN POWERS ASKED FOR A MOTION TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Knee to go into Closed Session at
5:48 PM. Motion Unanimously Approved
7.1 Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or
dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an
employee of the public body for the public body to determine its validity.
7.2 Semi-annual review of Closed Session minutes for release to the Open Session book for the period of
December 2025 to June 2026
7.3 Review of Closed Session minutes of January 2024 to December 2024 and discussion regarding
destruction of audio recordings
7.4 Conduct Lateral Police Officer candidate oral interview
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Knee to return to Open
Session at 7:22 pm. Motion Unanimously Approved

The Board returned to Open Session at 7:22 pm.
Roll call: Chairman Powers, Commissioner Bork, Commissioner Busse, Commissioner Knee
Also present: Thomas Wang, Michael Eterno, Bart Tweedie, Lisa Schillinger
8 OLD BUSINESS
8.1. Discussion of changes to the Rules and Regulations referencing Fire and Police Department hiring
Chief Wang presented proposed changes regarding the implementation of the use of an online hiring platform
and subsequent rolling eligibility roster as well as a few changes to requirements. The Board discussed and
will vote at a future meeting once language has been finalized.
DC Tweedie left the meeting at 7:29pm
9 NEW BUSINESS —
9.1. VOTE ON DETERMINATIONS MADE IN CLOSED SESSION AS TO WHICH POLICE
CANDIDATES TO REMOVE FROM CONSIDERATION AND THE HIRING PROCESS BASED ON
THE BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND EXAMINATIONS —
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Bork to remove Candidates
A-D as discussed in the Closed Session. Motion Unanimously Approved
9.2. VOTE TO RELEASE CLOSED SESSION MINUTES TO THE OPEN SESSION BOOK OR RETAIN
IN CLOSED SESSION FOR DECEMBER 2025 THROUGH JUNE 2026 MEETINGS_
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bork to retain Closed
Session minutes of December 2025 to June 2026 in the Closed Session book.
Motion Unanimously Approved
9.3. VOTE TO DESTROY OR KEEP CLOSED SESSION AUDIO RECORDS FROM JANUARY 2024 TO
DECEMBER 2024—.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Bork to destroy Closed
Session audio records from January 2024 to December 2024. Motion Unanimously Approved
10 ADJOURNMENT - With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by
Commissioner Knee to adjourn the meeting at 8:27pm. Motion Unanimously Approved
