Kensington Road Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 (847) 870-5656 BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS SPECIALMEETING JUNE 15, 2026 OPEN SESSION MINUTES 1 CHAIRMAN POWERS CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 2:02 PM AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CONFERENCE ROOM 2 Roll Call: James Powers, Chairman Rockne Bork, Commissioner Mark Busse, Commissioner Maria McCarthy, Commissioner Staff Present: Thomas Wang, Fire Chief Joseph Vena, Deputy Fire Chief Michael Eterno, Police Chief Lisa Schillinger, Executive Assistant Also Present: Lance Malina, Village Attorney 3 CITIZENS TO BE HEARD – No one in attendance. 4 CLOSED SESSION – CHAIRMAN POWERS ASKED FOR A MOTION TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner McCarthy to go into Closed Session at 2:05 PM. Motion Unanimously Approved 4.1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body for the public body to determine its validity. 4.2. Review and discuss Merit and Efficiency Phase and BOFPC Oral Interview Phase of the 2026 Sergeant’s Examination Process at the request of a promotional candidate, ensuring understanding of the evaluation criteria, scoring procedures, and application of points A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner McCarthy to return to Open Session at 3:09 PM. MotionUnanimously Approved The Board returned to Open Session at 3:09 PM. Roll call: Chairman Powers, Commissioner Bork, Commissioner Busse, Commissioner McCarthy Also present: Michael Eterno, Lisa Schillinger, Village Attorney Lance Malina (KTJ) 5 OLD BUSINESS 6 NEW BUSINESS – 6.1 VOTE ON REQUEST TO DELAY THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 2026 POLICE SERGEANT’S PROMOTIONAL PROCESSED BASED ON REQUEST BY AN APPLICANT – No motion was made 7 ADJOURNMENT - With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner McCarthy to adjourn the meeting at 3:10 PM.
