A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
CDBG PROGRAM YEAR 2026 ACTION PLAN
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is an entitlement community that receives an
annual allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for
our Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG); and
WHEREAS, in the past forty five years the Village has used its Community Development Block
Grant entitlement to implement various projects to address the community development and
housing needs of low and moderate -income and elderly residents, to reduce and prevent the
occurrence of deterioration in the Village, to increase accessibility for persons with disabilities,
and to address other community needs in conformance with the objectives of the Community
Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is required to submit an Annual Action Plan to the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development which proposes eligible activities for the
upcoming program year running from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect expects to be allocated $308,045 for Program Year
2026 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and with estimated
carryover funds and program income, the total anticipated amount available for projects is
$396,561; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have determined that the Annual Action Plan
and the use of Community Development Block Grant funds can be of benefit in providing for
residents' health, safety and welfare and in meeting the community and housing needs of its
citizens.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE
EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby
approve the attached Program Year 2026 Action Plan. The 2026 Action Plan anticipates
spending Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $396,561:

SECTION TWO: As a member of Cook County's HOME Consortium, the Village of Mount
Prospect, along with all the Consortium members, are_ submitting their Annual Action Plans
as a joint and coordinated document to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development. The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby
authorize the Village Manager to prepare and forward to Cook County a submission of Mount
Prospect's 2026 Action Plan in accordance with Federal guidelines. This Plan includes an
application for Program Year 2026 federal Community Development Block Grant funds.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval in the manner provided by law.
