PROCLAMATION
"Week of the Young Child"
April 11 — 177 2026
WHEREAS, the Mount Prospect Child Care Center Inc. and other local
organizations, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of
Young Children, are celebrating the Week of the Young Child, April11 -171 2026; and
WHEREAS, these organizations are working to improve early learning opportunities, including
early literacy programs that can provide a foundation of learning for children in Mount Prospect;
and
WHEREAS, young children need access to an early childhood education workforce that
reflects a rich diversity of linguistic, racial, and cultural identities; and
WHEREAS, public policies that support early learning for all young children are crucial to
young children's futures;
WHEREAS, during the Week of the Young Child, the community is invited to participate in
the celebration through themed, child -focused activities, including "Music Monday," "Tasty
Tuesday," "Work Together Wednesday," "Arts Thursday," and "Family Friday".

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Paul Wm. Hoefert, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect, do
hereby proclaim April 11-17, 2026 as the
"WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD"
in the Village of Mount Prospect and I urge all individuals to recognize and support the
needs of young children in ours and neighboring communities.
