March 13, 2026
WHEREAS, founded in 2017, the purpose of Spread Goodness Day is to inspire
individuals, schools, and organizations to spread goodness together in their
communities. To celebrate goodness together, empowering us to see the impact we
can have on the world in just one day; and
WHEREAS, in a time of increasing polarization, division, and uncertainty, Spread
Goodness Day has the unique ability to connect friends, neighbors, and strangers,
making communities stronger and leading to a better and more resilient Mount
Prospect for all; and
WHEREAS, from volunteering and expressing gratitude, to sharing baked goods and
holding open doors, acts of goodness of all shapes and sizes have the unique ability to
make profound impacts; and
WHEREAS, celebrating goodness together has the power to change the world as well
as heal it; and
WHEREAS, on the second Friday of March, we should celebrate the strength and
simplicity of goodness to inspire change and make a positive difference in our
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Paul W. Hoefert, do hereby proclaim March 13th, 2026,
as
Spread Goodness Day in the Village of Mount Prospect
to uplift our community, inspire& unite us with acts of goodness.
