Roll Call Present: Kelly, Ekner, Chief Wang, Bocox (not here at roll call, but enters later), Kowalczyk Absent: Novak and Moran Officer’s Report: Chairman’s Report: Changes to Village Ordinance and Bylaws Treasurer’s Report: Balance of $626,884.86 through 1/09/26 not including cancer screening or fire extinguisher trainer Secretary Report: Minutes to be sent to board Old Business: Updated Village Ordinance- Need to present revised Ordinance to Village board. Once Ordinance is updated then FFTB bylaws will need to be updated. Looking to present updated Village rd ordinance to Village Board at February 3 Village Board Meeting. Audit and Finance for FFTB to remain with Village. FFTB constructed new Village ordinance to follow new State Statute. Updated By-Laws New Business: thththth 2026 Meeting Dates- February 6, May 8, August 14 and November 13 th Upcoming Nominations and Elections- Special Meeting to be held Friday, February 6 to discuss nominations, elections Village Board Ordinance and Bylaw changes. “The Foreign Fire Insurance Board (FFIB) will be undergoing several changes in the near future. Due to updates to the State Statute, the composition of the Board will be modified moving forward. Dedicated positions tied to specific ranks (e.g., Battalion Chief, Lieutenant, Blueshirt) will no longer be designated. The Fire Chief position will remain in place. The six remaining positions will now be open to any sworn member of the Mount Prospect Fire Department, including Blueshirts, Lieutenants, Battalion Chiefs, sworn Administrative Chiefs, and sworn Paid-on-Call members. All sworn members will be eligible for nomination to appear on the ballot for future FFIB elections, and all sworn personnel will be eligible to vote for all six positions regardless of rank. The nomination period will open in February. In accordance with our temporary election procedure, there will be three nominations for one-year terms and three nominations for two-year terms. After 2026, all terms will transition to two-year durations. Elections will be held following the close of the nomination period.” Chief Wang and the FFIB are currently updating the Foreign Fire Insurance Board Village Ordinance and By-Laws to reflect these changes. The FFIB will continue to operate with the current board members until the upcoming elections are completed. By-law Updates- Will need to be updated once village ordinance is changed to follow state statute changes.
