AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CONFERENCE ROOM Roll Call: James Powers, Chairman William Knee, Commissioner Maria McCarthy, Commissioner Staff Present: Michael Eterno, Police Chief Joseph Kanupke, Deputy Police Chief Thomas Wang, Fire Chief Joseph Vena, Deputy Fire Chief Lisa Schillinger, Executive Assistant 5.1 PERSONNEL 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body for the public body to determine its validity. FD Candidate Garcia was not recommended due to psychological examination and polygraph examination. The Board concurred. 5.2 SPECIAL MEETING CLOSED SESSION MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 22, 2025 — Commissioner Knee made a motion to approve the Special Meeting Closed Session Minutes of September 22, 2025 and Commissioner McCarthy seconded the motion. Motion Unanimously Approved 5.3 SPECIAL MEETING CLOSED SESSION MINUTES OF OCTOBER 6, 2025 — Commissioner Knee made a motion to approve the Special Meeting Closed Session Minutes of October 6, 2025 and Commissioner McCarthy seconded the motion. Motion Unanimously Approved 5.4 DISCUSSION OF POLICE OFFICER AND FIRE CANDIDATE(S) IN THE HIRING PROCESS FD Candidate Garcia was not recommended due to psychological examination and polygraph examination. The Board concurred. 5.5 CONDUCT POLICE DEPARTMENT ORAL INTERVIEWS Police Department oral interviews were conducted as scheduled (schedule attached). The Board recessed for dinner at 5:55 pm and returned to Closed Session at 6:47 pm. After the last candidate was interviewed, a discussion was held regarding the candidates. With no further business, Chairman Powers asked for a motion to return to open session. Commissioner McCarthy made a motion to return to Open Session and Commissioner Knee seconded the motion.
