SPECIAL MEETING CLOSED SESSION MINUTES September 22, 2025
CHAIRMAN POWERS CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 3:06 PM AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
CONFERENCE ROOM
Roll Call: James Powers, Chairman
Rockne Bork, Commissioner
William Knee, Commissioner
Staff Present: Thomas Wang, Deputy Fire Chief
Todd Novak, Fire Battalion Chief
4.1 PERSONNEL 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of
the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body for
the public body to determine its validity.
4.2 CONDUCT FIRE DEPARTMENT ORAL INTERVIEWS
The Board went into the Closed Session before the first candidate arrived at 3:06 pm. Fire Department oral
interviews were conducted as scheduled (schedule attached).
The Board recessed for dinner at 5:37 pm and returned to Closed Session at 6:28 pm.
After the last candidate was interviewed, a discussion was held regarding the candidates.
With no further business, Chairman Powers asked for a motion to return to open session.
Commissioner Bork made a motion to return to Open Session and Commissioner Knee seconded the motion.
Motion Unanimously Approved
The Board returned to the Open Session at 8:16 pm.
