PROCLAMATION
Italian -American Heritage Month
October 2025
WHEREAS, October is recognized across the United States as Italian American
Heritage Month, honoring the rich history, culture, and contributions of Italian
Americans to our nation; and
WHEREAS, Italian immigrants and their descendants have played a vital role in
building communities, advancing commerce, excelling in the arts, sciences,
education, and public service, and enriching the cultural fabric of our country; and
WHEREAS, the values of family, hard work, and dedication carried byltalian
Americans have strengthened the foundation of our communities and inspired
future generations; and
WHEREAS, the proud traditions, language, and heritage of Italian Americans
continue to thrive, reminding us of the enduring bond between Italy and the United
States; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize and celebrate the significant impact
ofltalianAmericans both nationally and locally, and to encourage all residents to

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Paul Wm. Hoefert, Mayor of the Village of
Mount Prospect, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2025 as
"Italian -American Heritage Month"
In the Village of Mount Prospect to recognize the rich heritage of Americans of
Italian descent and celebrate their immeasurable contributions to our community
and nation.
