Meeting June 3, 2025 - REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE BOARD Fiscal Impact (Y/N) Dollar Amount Budget Source Category Type Information Y $89,169.00 Vehicle Replacement Fund CONSENT AGENDA Action Item Public Works vehicle #4527 is a 37,000 Gross Vehicle Weight truck built on a 2025 Peterbilt 548 single -axle cab and chassis. The Village Board authorized the purchase of this vehicle as a replacement for the previous 4527 (a 2008 International Model 7400 single -axle cab and chassis) at the August 20, 2024, Village Board meeting. To complete the up -fitting of this cab and chassis for use as a snowplow truck and material handling truck, staff must procure and install a dump body and a V-type salt spreader. Funds for these proposed procurements are included in the Vehicle Replacement Fund allotment for 4527. A suitable dump body and V-spreader are available for purchase through the National Purchasing Partners - Government (NPPGov) publicly solicited contracts. This joint purchasing venture is available to government entities nationwide and satisfies the Village of Mount Prospect's public bidding requirements. The pricing for the proposed dump body and V- spreader procurements is provided by Henderson Products Inc., of Huntley, Illinois through NPPGov contract # PS22170. Discussion Truck #4527 will be upfitted to a low bedside dump body that will allow for better utilization throughout the year. This upfit will allow the truck the ability to haul trailers with a bobcat and dump debris into the low side dump body. The spreader will slide into the dump body for winter operations. This spreader will have the ability to spread salt with pre -wet material and can act as an anti -ice applicator. This equipment will make this truck very versatile and expand its utility. Both items are made of stainless steel and are expected to provide a long, reliable work life. In fact, both pieces of equipment are expected to outlive the chassis, availing an opportunity to remount and re -use them on a new chassis when a replacement cab and chassis is due in 17 years. The contract price for both the dump body and the V-spreader is $89,169. This recommended award price includes a $2,000 estimate for shipping costs. AItprnnfivac 1. Staff Recommendation Staff recommends that the Village Board accept the National Purchasing Partners - Government contract pricing (contract # PS22170) for the purchase of one dump body and one salt spreader from Henderson Products Inc. for a price not to exceed $89,169. Under -tank sump basin, standard on a11800-gallon systems, prevents air suction pump damage. All hose clamps are stainless steel. BODY Sides, ends and side supports are of 10-gauge stain- less steel, continuously seam welded from the inside. Side slope is 45' with a 18° front slope and a 9° rear slope. Floor and longsills are 7-gauge stainless steel. Top edge of hopper is formed "J" channel. Feedgate is 10" x 18" screw -jack adjustable from the curb side. Also available is mild steel. CONVEYOR Rear discharge pintle type conveyor chain has 3/8" x 1-1/2" crossbars on 4-1/2" centers and is powered by 50:1 worm gear box drive. Chain tension idler adjusts up to 4" using a 5/8" stainless steel rod. Conveyor extends 3' behind rear of hopper to allow room for stands, pump systems, easy adjustment and maintenance. Chain and sprockets are protected by bolt -in replaceable chain shields. SPINNER CHUTE ASSEMBLY Completely enclosed telescopic design is 10-gauge stainless steel. Top -mounted hydraulic spinner motor Boom control valve motors are easily removeable from butterfly valve using a single push-pull pin. is enclosed in the chute for protection as well as maximum material flow to the stainless steel spinner disk. The motor is mounted directly to the spinner to eliminate shaft and bearings. Two internal baffles direct material flow onto the spinner disk for direc- tional spread control. Three external easily replace- able, adjustable deflectors and one fixed deflector with overlapping corners contribute to precise control of materials. 20" 10-gauge stainless steel spinner with six bolt -on stainless steel vanes and replaceable hub provide enhanced wear and eliminate corrosion. LIQUID TANKS Liquid reservoir tanks are made of UV stabilized poly- ethylene. 10' to 13' units utilize two 200-gallon tanks; 14' and larger units utilize two 400-gallon tanks.
