1. Womens History Month proclamation 2025
PROCLAMATION
Women's History Month
March 2025
WHEREAS, women of every race, class, and ethnic background have made historic
contributions to the growth and strength of our Nation in countless recorded and unrecorded
ways, and
WHEREAS, through leadership, innovation and ingenuity, generations of women have made
significant contributions in arts, science, medicine, technology, business, politics, and
entrepreneurship, and
WHEREAS, whether serving in elected positions across America, leading groundbreaking civil
rights movements, serving our country courageously in the military, or programming
revolutionary technologies, generations of women that knew their gender was no obstacle to
what they could accomplish have long stirred new ideas and opened new doors, having a
profound and positive impact on our community, and
WHEREAS, despite these contributions, the role of American women in history has been
consistently overlooked and undervalued in the literature, teaching and study of American
history, and
WHEREAS, the National Women's History Month's theme for 2025 is "Moving Forward
Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations", and
WHEREAS, the theme recognizes the impact of women who have dedicated their lives to
education, mentorship and leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Paul Wm. Hofert, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect, do hereby
proclaim March 2025 as Women's History Month and call upon the citizens of Mount Prospect
of to observe this month and honor and celebrate the collective strength of women who have
inspired generations. I also invite all citizens to visit www.WornensHistoryMonth. ov to learn
