AN ORDINANCE AUTEORIZING TRE PURCHASE OF
PROPERTY FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT TAX
INCREMENT REDEVEbOPMENT PROJECT AND PLAN
WHEREAS, %he Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, have heretofore adopted
Ordinance no. 3554 entitled AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE TAX
INCREMENT REDEVELOPMENT PLAN AND R~DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR
DISTRICT NO. 1 REDEVELOPMENT IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPRCT,
ILLINOIS and ordinance no. 3555 entitled AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING
DISTRICT NO. 1 TAX INCREMENT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA IN
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, both of which having been
amended from time to time and all of which, including
amendments, are incorporated herein in their entirety, the
Redevelopment Plan and Redevelopment Project adopted pursuant to
said Ordinance no. 3554 and all amendments thereto being
collectively referxed to herein as "the Plan" and the
Redevelopment Project Area designated pursuant to said Ordinance
no. 3555 and all amendments thereto being collectively referred
to as "the Area;" and
WHEREAS, the Board Of Trustees of the village of Mount
Prospect ha~ determined that the Plan, which was the subject
matter of public hearings, is in the best interests of the
residents of the village of Mount Prospect and is a public
purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is empowered,
pursuant to the Tax Incremen~ Allocation Redeve].opment Act,
Ill.Rev. Stat., Ch. 24, §11-74.4-1 et seq., as amended, to acquire
by purchase, real property within the Area; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of the Plan would attract to the
Village 6f Mount Prospect additional commercial ventures,
increase business for commercial ventures currently established
within the Village, strengthen the property and non-pr0per~y
and income bases and provide jobs for Village residents.
NOW, THEREPORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
as
SECTIpN 1: That it is hereby determined that the Plan
previously adopted, be established, maintained, controlleS,
managed and operated within the corporate limits of the Village
of Mount Prospect, within the Area, and that said Area be
occupied, improved, used and developed in a manner necessary and
convenient for public use and in accordance with the Plan.
SECTION 2: That under the authority vested in ~hm corporate
authorlti-$ of the Village of Mount Prospect through the sLatutes
of the S=a=e of Illinois, it is hereby determined that pursuant
=o thc Plant it is necessary and desirable that the villag~ ~hall
purchase the real propcr~y legally described in Exhibit A which
lS a~=ached h~re%o and made a part hercof and her~nafter
referred 5o as the "Subjec~ Property," which Subject Proper=y is
within ~he Area, and which Sub]ec~ Property is necessary,
required and needed to achieve the objectives of the Plan and
which Subject Property lies wholly within the limits of the
Village of Mount Prospec=.
SECTION 3: That the law offices of Barry A. Springer be and
it is-~reby authorized, empowered and directed to negotiate
personally or through its repres..ntst~ves for and on behal~ of
said Village with the owner or owners of the SubJec~ Proper~y for
the purchase thereof by said Villagc.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall be in full ~fce and
effect from a---~d after its passage, approval and publication in
pamphlet form as provided by law.
