RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
AND THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR LAND ACQUISITION FOR THE
ALGONQUIN ROAD SHARED USE PATH & LIGHTING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect endeavors to improve a 1.56 mile segment of Algonquin Road (IL
Route 62) between Dearborn Court and Elmhurst Road (IL Route 83), and known to the Illinois Department
of Transportation as Section Number 20-00172-00-BT; and
WHEREAS, the Land Acquisition costs of said improvement have necessitated the use of federal funds; and
WHERAS, the use of federal funds requires a joint funding agreement (hereinafter “AGREEMENT”) with the
Illinois Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has received three hundred fifteen thousand, two hundred dollars
($315,200.00) in federal Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality (CMAQ) Program funding for Land Acquisition
of said Algonquin Road Shared Use Path & Lighting Project; and
WHEREAS, the federal fund sources require a match of local funds to fulfill the total estimated amount of
three hundred ninety-four thousand dollars ($394,000.00) stipulated in the AGREEMENT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGAE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Village of Mount Prospect authorizes seventy-eight thousand, eight hundred dollars
($78,800.00) or as much of such sum as may be needed to match federal funds in the completion of Land
Acquisition of the aforementioned project known as Section Number 20-00172-00-BT.
SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby authorize
the execution of the above-mentioned AGREEMENT and any other such documents related to advancement
and completion of said project.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
in the manner provided by law.
