'NATIONAL NIGHT OUT'
August 6, 2024
WHEREAS, the Mount Prospect Police Department and Mt. Prospect Park District are
hosting a nationwide crime, drug, and violence prevention program and community -
building campaign on August 6, 2024, entitled "National Night Out"; and
WHEREAS, the annual "National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for the
Village of Mount Prospect to join forces with thousands of communities across the
country in promoting cooperative, police -community crime prevention efforts; and
WHEREAS, all citizens of Mount Prospect must be aware of the importance of crime
prevention programs and the impact that their participation can have on reducing
crime, drugs, and violence in Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, police -community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness, and
cooperation are important themes of the National Night Out Program; and
WHEREAS, the Mount Prospect Police Department has hosted this event for many years
and shall continue to host it annually on the first Tuesday of August; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect will continue to strengthen public and private
relationships with residents and businesses through community outreach programs such
as National Night Out.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect, do hereby proclaim
August 6, 2024, as
"NATIONAL NIGHT OUT"
and, on behalf of the Village of Mount Prospect, I commend the work of all staff,
volunteers, and local sponsors who work tirelessly to make this event the best it can be.
