HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 24-24 05/21/2024 Approving An Itergovernmental Agreement With The State Of Illinois And The Village Of Mount Prospect Appropriating Funds For Land Acquisition Costs Fot The Rand-IL83-Kensington Intersection ImprovementsRESOLUTION NO. 24-24 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ILLINOIS AND THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR LAND ACQUISITION COSTS FOR THE RAND-IL83-KENSINGTON INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect endeavors to improve the three closely -spaced intersections involving Rand Road (US 12), Illinois Route 83, and Kensington Road and segments of such roadways that are approximately 1.0 miles, 0.5 miles, and 0.3 miles in length, respectively, and known to the Illinois Department of Transportation as Section Number 18 -00170 -00 -CH; and WHEREAS, the Land Acquisition costs of said improvement has necessitated the use of federal funds; and WHERAS, the use of federal funds requires a joint funding agreement (hereinafter "AGREEMENT") with the Illinois Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has received one hundred fourteen thousand, nine hundred forty dollars ($114,940) in Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funding for Land Acquisition costs of said Rand-IL83-Kensington Intersection Improvements; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has received one million, six hundred eighty-five thousand, sixty dollars ($1,685,060) in Federal Congressional Appropriation funding for Land Acquisition costs of said Rand- IL83-Kensington Intersection Improvements; and WHEREAS, the federal fund sources require a match of local funds to fulfill the total estimated amount of two million, two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($2,225,000) stipulated in the AGREEMENT. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGAE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Village of Mount Prospect authorizes four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000) or as much of such sum as may be needed to match federal funds for the purchase of land for the aforementioned project known as Section Number 18 -00170 -00 -CH. SECTION TWO+ : That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby authorize the execution of the above-mentioned AGREEMENT and any other such documents related to advancement and completion of said project. SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
