ORDINANCE NO. ttZfl
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 23.1 OF
CHAPTER IX OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILD-
ING CODE OF 1957
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the corporate
authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect that in order
to insure proper standards for building lines, their prox-
imity to the street, and in order to promote the public
safety and the general welfare of the residents of the
Village of Mount Prospect it is in the public interest to
provide that garages attached to residences shall not be
closer than twenty (20') feet from the side street line of
a corner lot,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 23.1 of Chapter IX, Part
A, of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957, as amended,
shall be amended to and shall hereafter read as follows:
"23.1 Detached garage must be set back
seventy (70') feet from the front lot line, and
shall not be closer than two (2') feet to the
dividing lot line.
Attached garages must be thirty
(30') feet back from the front lot line and
shall not be closer to the dividing lot line
than 10% of the width of the lot and on corner
lots shall not be closer than twenty (20') feet
from the side street line.1I
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law.
Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect
any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm

or corporation under any ordinances or sections of ordinances
which may be and are hereby repealed.
