AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FROM THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT ZONING ORDINANCE
AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, a Notice of Public Hearing on the question
of granting a variation on the use of the following-described
property:
East 100 feet of Lot 3, Block 2 in Frank
Serafine's third addition, a subdivision
in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 35, Town-
ship 42 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illi-
nois, commonly known as 1010 Central Road,
was duly published in the Mount Prospect Herald, a newspaper
of general circulation in the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Board of
Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect in the Village Hall
on October 16, 1959, at the hour of 8:00 P. M., and all per-
sons who desired to be heard were heard and an opportunity
given to all persons who desired to make remonstrances and
objections with reference thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of
Mount Prospect, subsequent to said hearing, recommended that
a variation not be granted; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village
of Mount Prospect, after considering the matter as aforesaid,
DO HEREBY FIND AS FOLLOWS:
1. The petitioner and owner of said property is
Mount Prospect Schuham Hardware Company.
2. That the aforesaid property is now zoned in the
P-3 District and pursuant to said district the installation

of a sign in said parking area is not permitted.
3. The applicant's petition is for the purpose of
permitting the erection of a sign in a parking area.
4. That the public interests of the Village of
Mount Prospect will be enhanced by permitting a variation
from the Zoning Ordinance to erect and maintain a sign in
the parking area as petitioned for,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED By the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook
County, Illinois:
Section 1: That there is hereby granted for the
following-described property the right to erect and maintain
a sign on said property, said sign not to be located closer
than three (3') feet from the side lot line:
East 100 feet of Lot 3, Block 2 in Frank
Serafine's third addition, a subdivision
in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 35, Town-
ship 42 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illi-
nois, commonly known as 1010 Central Road.
Section 2: That the Zoning Plan of the Village of
Mount Prospect as amended, be and the same is hereby amended
to modify and conform to the instant variation.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law.
Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect

any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm
or corporation under any ordinances or sections of the Zoning
Ordinance which may be and are hereby repealed.
