ORDINANCE NO. 711'
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 6 AND SECTION
7.2 OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT ZONING
ORD INANCE AS A.lvlENDED
WHEREAS, a notice ot public hearing with respect to
the question of amending the Zoning Ordinance of the Village
of Mount Prospect by deleting subsection 3 from Section 6,
R-3 District; and adding the aforesaid subsection to Section
7.2, B-2 District was duly published in the l-Iount Prospect
Herald, a newspaper of general circulation in the Village of
Mount Prospect; and
WrlEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Board of
Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect in the Village Hall
in the Village of Mount Prospect on the 27th day of January,
1961, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. pursuant to the provisions of
the aforesaid public notice, and all persons who desired to
be heard were heard and an opportunity given to all persons
who desired to make remonstrances and objections with refer-
ence thereto; and
~~EREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect Zoning Board
of Appeals made its recommendation concerning thereto and the
corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect believe
it is in the best interests of the residents of the Village of
Mount Prospect and find that it will promote the public health,
safety, morals and general welfare of the Village of Mount
Prospect to adopt said amendments,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

Section 1: That an ordinance entitled, "An Ordi-
nance classifying, regulating and restricting the location of
trades and industries and the location of buildings designed
for specified uses; regulating and limiting the height and
bulk of buildings hereafter erected or altered, regulating
and limiting the intensity of the use of lot areas and regu-
lating and determining the area of yards, courts and other
open spaces within and surrounding such buildings; establish-
ing the boundaries of districts for said purposes, and pre-
scribing the penalties for violation of its provisions;1 passed
and approved December 4, 1923, and amendments thereto (and
known as Ordinance No. 52) as amended, be further amended by
amending Section 6, R-3 District to hereafter read as follows:
"Section 6 R-3 District. In the R-3 District
the only uses which may hereafter be established
are:
1. Uses permitted in the R-l and R-2 Districts.
2. Residential apartments in number not exceed-
ing one family living unit for each 2,400 square feet
of lot area.
Uses specifically excluded from the R-l and R-2
Districts are also excluded from this District except
that a private garage may be provided to meet the
requirements of Section 11."
and to amend Section 7.2, B-2 District, by adding thereto the
following additional subsection:
114. General hospitals for humans, orphanages,
homes for aged and similar institutions, with sleep-
ing rooms in number not exceeding one for each 500
square feet of lot area."
Section 2: That the Zoning Plan of the Village of
Mount Prospect, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended
to conform to the above change.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.
Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect
any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm
or corporation under any ordinances or sections of said Zon-
ing Ordinance which may be and are hereby repealed.
