1961 ELECTION ORDINANCE FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, STATE OF ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That there shall be a regular election of officers
in the Village on the 18th day of April, 1961.
Section 2: At such election there shall be elected the
following officers:
President - four-year term
Villa~e Clerk - four-year term
Three (3) Village Trustees - four-year term
Police Magistrate - four-year term
Two (2) Library Directors - six-year term
Section 3: At least fifteen (15) but not more than thirty (30)
days before the election, the Clerk shall cause to be published in the
Mount Prospect Herald, a newspaper published in the Village of Mount
Prospect, a Notice of Election which shall be substantially as follows:
NOTICE OF ELECTION
On the 18th day of April, 1961, there will be a regular
election in the Village of Mount Prospect to elect:
A President - - - - (four-year term)
A Village Clerk
(four-year term)
Three (3) Village Trustees - (four year terms)
A Police Magistrate - (four-year term)
Two (2) Library Directors - (six-year term)
The precincts and polling places for such election shall be:
PRECINCT 1: Polling Place: Fairview School
Fairview and Gregory Streets
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes all that part of the Village lying north of
the center line of Central Road and west of the center line
of Pine Street.

PRECINCT 2: Polling Place: St. John's Episcopal Church
Main and Thayer Streets
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes all that part of the Village lying north of
the center line of Central Road and east of the center line
of Pine Street.
PRECINCT 3: Polling Place: Village Hall
112 East Northwest Highway
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of the village bounded by the center
line of Central Road on the north, Mount Prospect Road on the
east and Northwest Highway on the southwest.
PRECINCT 4: Polling Place: Lincoln School
Lincoln St. and Candota Ave.
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of the village bounded on the north
by Central Road, northeast by the Chicago & Northwestern
Railroad tracks to the center line of Emerson Street, thence
south along Emerson Street to the center line of Shabone Trail,
thence westward to the center line of Elmhurst Road, thence
southward to the center line of Lonnquist Boulevard, thence
westward along Lonnquist to the village limits.
PRECINCT 5: Polling Place: Lions Park Fieldhouse
Maple and Lincoln Streets
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of the village bounded on the northeast
by the Chicago &.Northwestern Railroad tracks, on the east by
the Village limits, on the south by village limits, and on the
west by a line running as follows: From center line of Emerson
Street at Prospect Avenue, thence south to Shabonee Trail, thence
westward along center line of Shabonee Trail to Elmhurst Road;
thence south along center line of Elwhurst Road to Lonnquist
Boulevard, westward along center line of Lonnquist to village
limits.

Section 4: The precincts or voting districts for such election
and the polling places shall be those designated in the preceding section.
Section 5: The judges of election shall be those as shall be
hereafter designated by the President and Board of Trust.ees to serve as
election officials.

Section 6: The ballot to be used at such election shall be
in the form prescribed by statute and it shall be the duty of the Village
Clerk to see to the preparation of the official ballots for the election,
and to cause a sample of such ballot to be published prior to the day of
election in a newspaper of general circulation published in the Village,
and to provide the necessary election supplies for each voting district
or precinct.
Section 7:
Said election and all matters pertaining thereto
shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by statute for the conduct
of a regular election for village officers.
PASSED this 14th day of March, 1961.
