at a public meeting duly held according to law (Appeal No. 62-7),
cons idered the question of mrlending and supplementin€; the zoning
ordinances of I~unt Prospect by adding to Section 17 thereof a
definition 0f the ter~ shopping center, and

the ;,Tount Prospect Eerald on lIarcn 29, 1962, preceding the neet-
in;.: aforementioned, oy the Zonin2; Eoard of Appe.s.ls and in full
accordance with the law, and

set forth below, is in full accordance with established customs
ano. usages in the VillaL<e of I.Tount Prospect, and

shopping center use nonconforming or ille[';al, and

of said i)oard of Appeals acting as a zoning commission, find and
believe that the adoption of said ordinance amending and supple-
menting the zoning ordinances of :/OlU1.t Prospect so as to provide
for a definition of the term shopping center, is o.esirable ane. to
the best interests of said Village,

Section 1. 'l'l~at an ordinance entitled !IAn ordinance
classifying, regulating and restricting the location cf trades
and industries and the location cf buildings designed for specif~d
nses; regulatinr and l~niting the height and bulk of buildings
hereafter erected 01' altered, re~ulatinc and limiting the intensity
of the use of lot areas and regulating and determining the area
of yards, courts and other open spaces within and surrounding
such builciinC;s; establishing the boundaries of districts for the
said purposes; and prescribing penalties for ~he violation of its
provis ions, II pas s eO. and approved J)ec emo er 4, 1'}23, and amend":Jents
thereto, and known as Ordinance Ho. 52, as anended by an ordinance
known and ci tee. as the Zoning Ordinance of I'Jount Prospect, passed
and approved ~/a~I 2, 19L!-Lr.' and as subsequently amended and supple-
mented, is e.wn.Ler. and supplemented by adding to Section 17 of the
zoning ordinance of ~ount trospect the following:
"Shopping Center. A ousiness development containing
four (L-) or more offices or indoor retail stores, con-
nected'by parts walls, developed under one ownership,
with an intesrated building arrangement, having an ag-
ctre0'ate floor area of more than twenty thousand (20,000)
~qu~re feet, which development shall.be considered,as a
sinG:;le unit. rCne miniraum area occupled by a Shopplng

"Center and its accessory off-street parking facilities
shall be not less than two and one-half (2i) acres.
~'he tertl Shopping Center shall not include drive-ins
and/or automotive service type or sale facilities.1I
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
