1963 ELECTION ORDINANCE FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, STATE OF ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That there shall be a regular election of
officers in the Village on the 16th day of April, 1963.
Section 2: At such election there shall be elected the
following officers:
Three (3) Village Trustees - four year term
Two (2) Library Directors - six year term
Section 3: At least fifteen (15) but not more than thirty
(30) days before the election, the Clerk shall cause to be published in
the Mount Prospect Herald, a newspaper published in the Village of Mount
Prospect, a Notice of Election which shall be substantially as follows:
NOTICE OF ELECTI~N
On the 16th day of April, 1963, there will be a
regular election in the Village of Mount Prospect
to elect:
Three (3) Village Trustees (four year term)
Two (2) Library Directors - (six year term)
The precincts and polling places for such election shall be:
PRECINCT 1: Polling Place: Village Hall
112 East Northwest Highway
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of Mount Prospect south of Central Road,
west of Mount Prospect Road and north of Northwest Highway, the
same described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 1 and 7.
PRECINCT 2: Polling Place: Lions Park Fieldhouse
411 South Maple Street
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of Mount Prospect south of Northwest Highway,
west of the eastern boundary of the Village, north of Weller Creek,
with the western boundary described as follows: Starting from a point
at Emerson and Prospect Avenue, running south on Emerson to Shabonee,
thence west on Shabonee to Rte. 83; thence south on Rte. 83 to the
Creek; the same described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 5 and 16.

PRECINCT 3: Polling Place: Sunset Park School
601 West Lonnquist Blvd.
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying west of its eastern
boundary, south of Weller Creek and north of Rte. 58, and east of a
line defined as follows: From a point at the intersection of Weller Creek
and Rte. 83, thence south along Rte. 83 to Lonnquist Boulevard, thence
west along Lonnquist Blvd. to We Go Trail; thence south along We Go Trail
to Rte. 58, the same described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 11 and 22,
plus all portions of the Villa~e lying south of Rte. 58, including
portions' of Cook County Precinct Nos. 23 and portions of 21.
PRECINCT 4: Polling Place: St. Raymond's School
300 South Elmhurst Road
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying within the following
described area; From a point at the intersection of Emerson Street and
Prospect Avenue, thence northwest along Prospect Avenue to Central Road;
thence west along Central Road to Wa Pella Avenue; thence south along
We Pella Avenue to its intersection with Milburn Avenue; thence west
along Milburn Avenue to Can Dota Avenue; thence south along Can Dota
Avenue to Lonnquist Parkway;thence east along Lonnquist Parkway to
Elmhurst Road; thence north along Elmhurst to Shabonee Trail; thence
easterly along Shabonee Trail to Emerson Street; thence north along
Emerson Street to place of beginning, the same described as Cook County
Precinct Nos. 2 and 8.
PRECINCT 5: Pollinp Place: Lincoln School
700 West Lincoln Avenue
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that portion of Mount Prospect lying within an area
described as follows: Commencing at a point determined by the inter-
section of Central Road and Wa Pella, thence West along Central Road
to We Go Trail; thence South along We Go Trail to Lincoln Avenue; thence
west along Lincoln Avenue to the western limits of the Village; thence
southerly along said westerly limits of the Village to Rte. 58; thence
east along said Rte. 58 to We Go Trail; thence north along We Go Trail
to Lonnquist Boulevard; thence east along Lonnquist to Can Dota Avenue;
thence north along Can Dota to Milburn; thence east along Milburn to
Wa Pella Avenue; thence north along Wa Pella to the place of beginning;
the same described as Cook County Precinct Nos. 9 and 10, and a portion
of 27.
PRECINCT 6: Polling Place: Westbrook School
105 South Busse Road
Mount:Prospect, Illinois
which includes that portion of Mount Prospect bounded on the west by the
Village limits, lying north of Lincoln Avenue and south of Northwest
Highway; and bounded on the east as follows: Starting at a point from the
intersection of Lincoln Avenue and We Go Trail running northward across
Central Road to the intersection of Prosoect Avenue and Lancaster Street,
described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 6, 25 and a portion of 18.

PRECINCT 7: Polling Place: Fairview School
Fairview and Gregory Streets
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that portion of Mount Prospect lying north of Northwest
Highway, south of Foundry Road, bounded on the west by Village limits,
and bounded on the east as follows: Commencing at a point from the inter-
section of Forest Avenue and Northwest Highway running north to Isabella;
thence east along Isabella to Prospect Manor; thence north to Foundry
Road; described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 29 and a portion of 18.
PRECINCT 8: Polling Place: Presbyterian Church, Parish House
Main and Gregory Streets
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that portion of Mount Prospect lying south of Foundry Road
bounded as follows: Starting at a point at the intersection of Foundry
Road and Prospect Manor, running south to Isabel1a; thence east along
Isabella to Pine Street; thence north along Pine Street to Gregory Street;
thence east along Gregory Street to eastern limits of Mount Prospect;
and ending at Foundry Road and Main Street; described as Cook County
Precincts Nos. 25 and 39.
PRECINCT 9: Polling Place: Busse School
Owen and Henry Streets
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that portion of Mount Prospect lying north of Central Road,
east of Pine Street, south of Gregory Street, and bounded on the east by
Village limits; described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 35 and 10.
PRECINCT 10: Pol1ing Place: Haberkamp's Flowers
15 North Elmhurst Road
Mount Prospect, Illinois
which includes that portion of Mount Prospect bounded as follows:
Starting at a point at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Lancaster
and running south along Lancaster to Central Road; thence east on
Central Road to Pine Street; thence north on Pine Street to Isabel1a;
thence west on Isabella to Forest Avenue; thence south on Forest to
Northwest Highway, thence northwesterly along the Highway to the point
of beginning, described as Cook County Precincts Nos. 45 and a portion
of 18.
Polls shall be open from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Central Standard Time.

Section 4:
The precincts or voting districts for such election
and the polling places shall be those designated in the preceding section.
Section 5: The jud~es of election shall be those as shall be
hereafter designated by the President and Board of Trustees to serve as
election officials.

Section 6: The ballot to be used at such election shall be
in the form prescribed by statute and it shall be the duty of the
Village Clerk to see to the preparation of the official ballots for the
election, and to cause a sample of such ballot to be published prior to
the day of election in a newspaper of general circulation published in
the Village, and to provide the necessary election supplies for each
voting district or precinct.
Section 7: Said election and all matters pertaining thereto
shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by statute for the conduct
of a regular election for village officers.
