ORDINANCE NO. 901
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SALE OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, the Villa~e of Mount Prospect is the owner of a
parcel of vacant real estate having a frontage of approximately
257 feet upon and along the southwest side of Rand Road and having
an area of approximately one acre, said property being located
292 feet northwesterly of the intersection of Rand Road and Highland
Avenue, Mount Prospect, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village have
determined that said property is no lonp-er necessary, appropriate,
useful or profitable to the Village of Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities believe it to be to the
best interests of the Village that said property be sold in accordance
with the statutes of the State of Illinois made and provided, and the
proceeds devoted to useful corporate purposes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1: That the property hereinafter described is no
longer necessary, appropriate or useful or profitable to the Village
of Mount Prospect or for the best interests of the Village to retain
and that the same be sold under the terms and conditions hereinafter
set forth by the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect
and in accordance with the statutes of the State of Illinois.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk of the Village be and is
hereby directed to cause a public notice advertising for bids on the
following described property, to wit:
Lot 4 in Maple Crest Subdivision, being a Sub-
division of part of the Northeast quarter of
Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 11, East
of the Third Principal Meridian, according to
the plat recorded October 28, 1958 as
Document #17360466, Cook County, Illinois,
to be published once each week for three successive weeks in the
Mount Prospect Herald, Mount Prospect Independent, Chicago Daily News,
Chicago Tribune, Chica)""o Sun Times, Chicago American, Real Estate News,
Inc. and Realty & Building, Inc.; said notice to be in the following
form:
"PUBLIC NOTICE OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS ON SALE
OF VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT PROPERTY.
"Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions
of the Illinois Revised Statutes (1961), Chapter 24, Section 11-76-2,
the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County,
Illinois, will accept sealed bids for the purchase of unimproved real
estate legally described as follows:

Lot 4 in Maple Crest Subdivision, being a
Subdivision of part of the Northeast quarter
of Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 11
East of the Third Principal Meridian, according
to plat recorded October 28, 1958 as Document
#17360466, Cook County, Illinois.
"Said property has approximately 257 feet of frontage along
the southwest side of Rand Road and contains approximately one acre
and is located 292 feet northwesterly of the intersection of Rand Road
and Highland Avenue, Mount Prospect, Illinois, and is zoned B-3;
"Said bids will be received at the office of the Villafe Clerk,
Village of Mount Prospect, Village Hall, 112 East Northwest Highway,
Mount Prospect, Illinois, until 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the 7th day of
May, 1963, and that all said sealed bids so received shall thereupon be
opend at a regular meeting of the Village Board of the Village of
Mount Prospect at its regular meetin~ place at 112 East Northwest
Highway, Mount Prospect, Illinois, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the 7th day
of May, 1963.
" "All bids must be accompanied by a cashier's or certified
check made payable to the Treasurer of the Village of Mount Prospect,
in the sum of ten percent (10%) of the bid, as a guarantee of good
faith and as security for the performance of said bid and as liquidated
damages to the Village of Mount Prospect in case a successful bidder
fails to tender to the Village of Mount Prospect the consideration
specified in his bid within thirty (30) days after said bid is accepted.
"The corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect
will furnish a warranty deed and good and merchantable title. The
corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in the
bids and bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opending of
bids for a period of thierty (30) days from the date of bid opening
without the consent of such corporate authorities. The making of
any award is in the discretion of said corporate authorities.

be obtained by contacting H. G. Appleby, Village Manager, at 112 East
Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect, Illinois, telephone 255-7575.

Section 3: That bids received in response to said adver-
tisement for bids shall be opened at the regular meeting of the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect in
the Village Hall in the Village of Mount Prospect at the hour of
8:00 p.m. on the 7th day of May.
Section 4: That within thirty (30) days after a bid is
accepted the successful bidder shall tender to the Village the
consideration specified in the bid accepted and upon receipt of
such consideration the President and Clerk of the Village of Mount
Prospect shall thereupon cause the necessary legal papers to be issued
in the name of the said Village to the successful bidder for the real
estate successfully bid upon. The corporate authorities of the
Village of Mount Prospect will furnish a warranty deed with a good

Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according to
law.
