AN ORDINANCE GRANTING VARIATIONS FOR PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS 300 SOUTH GEORGE STREET
WHEREAS, Michael and Joan Griffin (hereinafter referred to as Petitioners) have filed an
application for a variation from Chapter 14 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois,
for property commonly known as 300 South George Street (hereinafter referred to as
Subject Property), legally described as:
Lot 1 in Block 23 in Busse's Eastern addition to Mount Prospect in the East
Half of Section 12, Township 41 North, East of the Third PrinciPal Meridian,
Cook County, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Petitioners have submitted a request for a variation from Section 14.3016 to
allow a driveway with a width of twenty-one feet (21'), instead of the maximum allowed
15 feet, in order to allow a parking pad; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the variation requested, being the subject of
ZBA Case No. 63-V--93 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount
Prospect on the 26th day of August, 1993, pursuant to due and proper notice thereof
published in the Mount Prospect Herald on the 10th day of August, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals did consider the request stated herein and have
forwarded their recommendation to the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect and the President and Board of Trustees have given further consideration
to the variation requested and have determined that the best interests of the Village
would be served by granting the variation requested.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The recitals set forth hereinabove are incorporated herein as findings
of fact by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION TWO.~ The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
hereby grant a variation from Section 14.3016 to allow a driveway with a width of twenty-
one feet (21'), rather than the permitted 15' in order to provide for a parking pad.
SECTION THREE: Except for the variations granted herein all other applicable Village
of Mount Prospect Ordinances and regulations shall remain in full force and effect as to
the Subject Property.
SECTION FOUR: In accordance with the provisions of Section 14.604 of Chapter 14 of
the Village Code, the variations granted herein shall be null and void unless permits are
issued and construction begins within one (1) year from the date of passage of this
Ordinance.
SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its

passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
