AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE AND
VARIATION FOR PROPERTIES
COMMONLY KNOWN AS 903 AND 905 EDGEWOOD LANE
WHEREAS, John and Lorinda Holmes (hereinafter referred to as
Petitioners) have filed an application for a Special Use and
variation from Chapter 14 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect,
Illinois, for property commonly known as 903 and 905 Edgewood Lane
(hereinafter referred to as Subject Property), legally described
as:
Lot 26 in busse Country Estates, being a Subdivision Of the
West 25 acres of that part of the west 1/2 of the Northwest
1/4 of Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the
Third Principal Meridian, lying north of Seeger's Road, in
Cook County, Illinois
and
WHEREAS, Petitioners seek a Special Use permit, as provided in
Section 14.1101.C.8, to allow a garage designed to house more than
two vehicles on each lot and a variation from Section 14.3016 to
allow each lot to have a driveway thirty feet in width (30'),
rather than the permitted 21 feet; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the Special Use and variation
requested, being the subject of ZBA Case No. 80-SU-92 and ZBA 81-V-
92, before the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount
Prospect on the 10th day of December, 1992, pursuant to due and
proper notice thereof published in the Mount ProsPect H~rald on the
llth day of November, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has submitted its findings and
recommendations to the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect and the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village have given further consideration to the Special Use
and being the subject of ZBA 80-SU-92 and the special use permit
being the subject of ZBA 81-V-92, and have determined that the best
interests of the Village of Mount Prospect would be served by
granting said requests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The recitals set forth hereinabove are incorporated
herein as findings of fact by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION TWO: The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect hereby grant to the Subject Properties a Special Use
to allow a garage designed to house more than two motor vehicles on
the Subject Property and a variation from Section 14.3016 to allow
driveway widths of thirty feet (30') at the garage, provided the
driveways taper to twenty-one feet (21') at the property line.
SECTION THREE: Except for the Special Use and variation granted

herein, all other applicable Village of Mount Prospect Ordinances
and regulations shall remain in full force and effect as to the
Subject Property.
SECTION FOUR: In accordance with the provisions of Section 14.604
of Chapter 14 of the Village Code, the variations granted herein
shall be null and void unless permits are issued and construction
begins within one (1) year from the date of passage of this
Ordinance.
SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet
form in the manner provided by law.
