Carol Tortorello, S. Elmhurst Ave., just came to say hello and visit.
Rodger Kruse, S. Louis St., thanked the police department for enforcing drivers without
licenses and asked where he can get a list of court dates for these offenders. Mr. Janonis told Mr.
Kruse to check with Police Records. Mr. Kruse also thanked the Village for resolving the
parking issues on Council Trail, but said there is still parking violators on Prospect Ave. Mr.
Kruse's last issue was his concern of gang activities on the south side of the Village and he
reported there is gang graffiti on the walls of the William St. Bridge. Mr. Andler said he will see
that the graffiti is removed.
Mal Holec, Quince Ln., had several issues. First Mr. Holec has concerns with the design for the
new Fire Station #14. There seems to be too much attention being given to the looks of the
station rather than the functionality and cost effectiveness of some of the proposed features.
Trustee Juracek assured Mr. Holec that the project will be valued engineered throughout the
design. Trustee Hoefert also commented that the architect SRBL is a quality firm with a lot of
fire department experience and as plans are developed they will be shared with the residents and
made available for public comment. Mr. Holec was concerned about the closing of Busse Ave.
as part of the Triangle Development and wants to see a lot of public comment as the project
moves forward. He also commented on his concerns with the Randhurst Development. Why
haven't the plans been released to the public? Stores and businesses are closing. Is the Village
sure this developer has the necessary financing or is the Village at risk if they don't. Mr. Janonis
assured Mr. Holec that the developer Casto does have the financing and the Village is not at risk.
Finally does the Village support Canadian National buying the EJ & E Railroad? Also there is
hydrant leaking at 925 Quince. Mr. Janonis answered yes, the Village supports the purchase and
a resolution of support will be presented to the Village Board next Tuesday. Mr. Andler
contacted Illinois American Water and they repaired the leaking fire hydrant.
Richard Rascher, S. George St., is concerned about the stop sign changes at George St. and
Golfhurst; increased speeding on George St. and can the midblock pedestrian crossing signs get
yellow strips on the posts, the same as the new red strips on the stop signs. Also, is Prospect
Ave. going to be resurfaced between Edward and Maple? Mr. Andler will check into the
possibility of the additional yellow caution strips and yes Prospect Ave. will be resurfaced this
year. Mr. Andler will also have the Village Traffic Engineer contact Mr. Rascher about his
traffic concerns.
Andy Side, N. Owen St., just came to say hello and visit.
Lillian Bogusz, H. Danielson, John Dhein & Joanne Dhein, all from S. Wille St., and AI
Galassini, Wilma Galassini, John Trutwin & Nancy Trutwin, all from S. Main., presented
the Village with pictures of the Village Center parking lot being blocked by delivery trucks.
They are all concerned about access for emergency vehicles and are not pleased with the
proposed plans for the Triangle Development. Trustee Juracek commented that one of the
features of the proposed development, include an interior loading dock for deliveries and that

final plans for this development are still under review by the Village Board. Mayor Pro Tern
Lohrstorfer thanked the residents for their input and encouraged them to continue their
involvement throughout the development process.
Louis Bowens, Boxwood., came to complain about a Spanish newspaper that is being delivered
throughout his neighborhood and causing a litter problem. He has call the paper asking them to
stop delivery with no results. Mr. Janonis will follow up on this complaint. Mr. Bowens also
said he had not received a response to his 3/8/08 Coffee with Council concern about the shipping
of collected plastics overseas to be burned. Mr. Janonis said he recalls seeing the response and
Mr. Andler told Mr. Bowens he will make sure he gets a copy ofthe response.
Chuck Bennett, W. Central Rd., came to share his concerns with the proposed Triangle
Development. His main objection is the increase density and the limited access to their parking
facilities. General discussion on the development followed.
Desmend Flynn, S. Elmhurst Ave., left the meeting earlier.
David Wein, S. Busse Rd., represents the Luggage Factory on S. Busse Rd. near the tollway.
They also have a retail business there and are having trouble advertising it. They originally
installed standard signage but with no results. So they recently put up windsurfer signs and flags
to help draw attention to the retail store. Their retail business improved but the Village Game and
told them to remove them because they are a violation of the Village Sign Ordinance. They
removed them and their retail business declined. Trustees Juracek and Hoefert suggested the
Village revisit the sign ordnance at a future COW for a possible solution.
David Schein, Nawata Ave., reported a missing stop sign from the Mount Prospect Plaza onto
Rand Rd. The stop sign is for a private driveway so Mr. Andler will contact the plaza owner
about replacing it. Mr. Schein also doesn't like the Triangle Development proposal as presented.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:40 am.
Respectfully Submitted,
~
