ORDINANCE NO. '1..3 /
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTIES TO THE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT LYING NORTH OF RAND ROAD AND EAST OF
ELMHURST ROAD, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a majority of the property owners of record, owners of record
of more than fifty percent of the land in the territory described, and a
majority of the electors of said territory hereinafter described and commonly
known as lying north of Rand Road and East of Elmhurst Road, have sought to
annex said area, hereinafter more fully described, to the Village of Mount
Prospect, and
WHEREAS, said property owners and residents, to accomplish said
purpose, have filed a petition to annex with the County Court of Cook County,
Case No. 63 CO 4189, in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Illinois
made and provided, and
WHEREAS, Judge Fred W. Reither, Acting Judge of the County Court of
Cook County, did on September 6, 1963 enter an order, a certified copy of
which is marked Exhibit 1, attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance
by reference as if fully set forth, which order did find that the petition
to annex the hereinafter described property was signed by a majority of the
property owners of record, owners of record of more than fifty percent of
the land in the territory described, and a majority of the electors of the
territory herein described and that said petition did comply in all respects
with the laws of the State of Illinois, that the territory described in said
petition and referred to below was in fact contiguous to the Village of
Mount Prospect and did duly certify the area to be annexed, and

WHEREAS, a copy of said order was duly transmitted to the Village
Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect in accordance with the statutes made
and provided; she having received same, and

WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interests of the Village of Mount
Prospect that the property hereinafter described and commonly known as lying
North of Rand Road and East of Elmhurst Road in Cook County, Illinois be
annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That land and territory described in the above mentioned
petition and the above mentioned order, to wit:
The W 1/2 of the W 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 35,
~ Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the 3rd Principal
Meridian.
ALSO
The east 75 feet of the south 110 feet of the SE 1/4
V of the NE 1/4 of section 34, Township 42 North, Range
11 East of the 3rd Principal Meridian.
ALSO
The NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 34 aforesaid
(except that part of said NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4
lying southwest of the center line of Rand Road
and except the west 466 feet of the north 217.8
feet thereof and except a tract of land described
as follows: The west 66 feet of said NE 1/4 of
the NE 1/4 lying north of the center line of Rand
Road and south of a line running parallel to and
217.8 feet south of the north line of said NE 1/4
of Section 34)
ALSO
The north 100 feet of that part of the NE 1/4 of
the SE 1/4 of Section 34, aforesaid lying easterly
of the centerline of Rand Road
ALSO
That part of the SE 1/4 of Section 27 and the SW
1/4 of Section 26, all in Township 42 North, Range
11 east of the 3rd Principal Meridian lying east
of the centerline and said line extended north and
south of Wheeling Road, as laid out in Brickman
Manor First Addition Unit No.1, being a subdivision
of part of the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Section 27 and
part of the W 1/2 of the W 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of
Section 26, all in T 42 N, R 11 E of the 3rd P M in
Cook County, Illinois and lying west of a line
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the S line
of the SW 1/4 of Section 26, aforesaid with the E
line of Lot 350 extended south in Brickman Manor
First Addition Unit 3, being a subdivision of part
of the SW 1/4 of Section 26, T 42 N, R 11 E of the
3rd P M in Cook County, Illinois; Thence north along
the E line of said Lot 350 and said line extended to
the N line of Ironwood Drive, as laid out in said
Unit No.3; Thence east along said N line of Ironwood
Drive to the SE corner of Lot 345 in said Unit 3;
Thence north along the E line of said Lot 345 to the
most N ly corner of said Lot 345; Thence NW ly along
the NE ly lines of Lots 346, 347, 348 and 349 in
said Unit No. 3 to the most E ly corner of Lot 192
in Brickman Manor First Addition Unit No.2, being a
subdivision of part of the W 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of
Section 26, aforesaid; Thence continuing NW ly along
the NE ly lines of Lots 192, 193, 194 and 195 in said
Unit No. 2 and said lines extended, to the centerline
of Greenwood Drive, as laid out in said Unit No.2;
Thence NE ly along the centerline of Greenwood Drive,
as laid out in said Units No. 2 and 3 to the extension
of the SW ly line of Lot 270 in Unit No.3, aforesaid;

Thence NW ly along the SW ly line of said Lot 270
and said line extended to the most W ly corner of
said Lot 270; Thence NE ly along the NW ly line of
said Lot 270 to the SW corner of Lot 272 in said
Unit No.3; Thence NW ly and N ly along the W lines
of Lots 272 to 280, both inclusive, in said Unit
No. 3 to the NW corner of said Lot 280; Thence
west along the S line of Lot 259 in said Unit No.
3 to the SW corner of said Lot 259; Thence north
along the W line of said Lot 259 and said line
extended to the N line of Barberry Lane, as laid
out in Unit No.2, aforesaid; Thence east along
said N line of Barberry Lane to the SW corner of
Lot 251 in Unit No.3, aforesaid; Thence north
along the W lines of Lots 251 and 250 in said Unit
No. 3 to the NW corner of said Lot 250; Thence
west along the S line of Alder Lane, as laid out
in Unit No.2, aforesaid to the extension of the
W line of Lot 227 in Unit No.3, aforesaid;
Thence north along the W line of said Lot 227 and
said line extended in Brickman Manor First Addi-
tion Unit No.3, aforesaid to the intersection
with the N line of the SW 1/4 of Section 26, afore-
said; all in Cook County, Illinois.
which territory is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, is not within (
the limits of any municipality, and which has sought annexation through i
petition to the County Court of Cook County, Case No. 63 CO 4189, and which \
petition has led to the entry of an order by Acting Judge Fred W. Reither on
September 6, 1963, which order did duly find that the territory described in
said petition and described above was in fact contiguous to the Village of
Mount Prospect, and that said petition was signed by a majority of the
property owners of record, owners of record of more than fifty percent of
land of the territory, and a majority of electors on the territory therein
described, and that the proceedings and petition filed were in all respects
in full compliance with the Statutes applicable thereto, particularly Illinois
Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Sections 7-1-2 through 7-1-5, and which order
certified the area to be annexed as above set forth, is hereby annexed to the
Village of Mount Prospect so that hereafter said territory shall be included
within the boundary lines and limits of said Village of Mount Prospect, as is
by law in such case made and provided.

Section 2. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is
hereby directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance together with an
accurate plat of survey of said territory, to be provided by the Village
Engineer, with the Record~ of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and the expiration of thirty days from date
thereof, in accordance with Section 7-1-5 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois
Revised Statutes (Municipal Code 1961).
