HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 936 10/01/1963 , ORDINANCE NO. 936 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT ZONING ORDINANCE BY AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR AN AUTO-LAUNDRY ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON RAND ROAD NORTH OF JUDITH ANN DRIVE. WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect, sitting as a Zoning Commission at a public meeting duly called and held according to law (Appeal No. 62-33), considered the question of granting a special use permit for an auto-laundry on real estate hereinafter described, and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect having considered the recommendation of said Zoning Board of Appeals and the recommendation of Consolidated Traffic and Transpor- tation Engineering Service, traffic engineers for the Village of Mount Prospect, believes that a special use permit for an auto-laundry should be granted for said real estate, provided the user of said auto-laundry accept and complies to the conditions set forth below, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mount Prospect passed and approved April 2, 1963, and known as Ordinance 898 be amended so as to permit a special use permit for an auto-laundry to be established on the following described real estate: Lot One (1) in N. J. Funk's Subdivision of the South 150 feet of the North 511.60 feet of that part of the North West Quarter (NW 1/4) of the North East Quarter (NE 1/4) lying West of the center line of Rand Road of Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois. provided that the petitioner, the Continental Oil Company agrees and consents to the following conditions: 1. That their auto-laundry be built strictly in accordance with the plans proposed by architect Robert Boles, dated October 22, 1962, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, showing a deceleration lane in the right-of-way along Rand Road abutting the property in question. 2. Removal of present gasoline pumps and their foundations. 3. Removal of foundation of the former building. 4. Entire area exclusive of new building is to be surfaced with a bituminous or concrete surface. 5. The paved area to be lane marked for parking lanes. 6. Adequate lighting in accordance with the suggestions of Ralph Gross, traffic engi- neer. 7. Consent to placement of signs prohibiting left turns from the auto-laundry into Rand Road and prohibiting left turns from Rand Road into the auto-laundry, which signs are to be paid for by Continental Oil Company. Section 2. That the Building Commissioner of the Village be and is hereby authorized to issue said Special Use Permit subject to the applicant's compliance with the above. Section 3. That any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or who resists the enforcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined not more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars for each offense, and each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, according to law.
