ORDINANCE NO. 943
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PORTION OF RAND ROAD TO THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, the Municipal Code of 1961 (Section 7-1-10, Chapter
24, Illinois Revised Statutes) provides that territory dedicated for
street and highway purposes which is under the jurisdiction of the
Department of Public Works and Building of the State of Illinois or the
Township Highway Department may be annexed to a municipality by ordinance
if said street or highway is contiguous to the Village, provided that the
same has not been annexed to any other municipality, and
WHEREAS, a certain portion of Rand Road presently lies without
any municipality but is contiguous to the corporate limits of the Vil-
lage of Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect, County of Cook, Illinois, believe it to be to the best
interest of the general public and the residents of the Village of Mount
Prospect that said portion of said street be annexed to the corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Prospect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, County of Cook, Illinois:
Section 1. That the territory and land hereinafter described,
to wit:
That part of Rand Road lying between the center line
and a line 50 feet Northeasterly of (as measured at
right angles to) the center line of said Rand Road,
and which lies within the West 210 feet of the East
490 feet of the Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4
of Section 34, TOlffiship 42 North, Range 11 East of
the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois;
being contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect and being dedicated or
used for street and highway purposes and not being within any other
municipality, be and is hereby annexed and made a part of the Village of
Mount Prospect.
Section 2. That the boundary lines of the Village of Mount
Prospect be hereby enlarged and extended so as to include Vlithin its cor-
porate boundaries the above described territory.
Section 3. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to file a
certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of the
above territory with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
