Type Consent In the current budget there are funds available to replace a Bobcat skid -steer loader. The equipment to be replaced is unit 4549, a 2095 Bobcat 5229 skid -steer loader. This skid -steer is used by public works personnel for landscape work, street repairs, utility repairs, snow removal, material handling, moving trailers, etc. throughout the Village. A replacement skid -steer and attachments are available through Sourcewell contract pricing from Atlas Bobcat of Yorkville, IL. This piece of equipment has been evaluated utilizing our detailed comprehensive replacement policy. This policy uses point -based criteria that rates each vehicle on four (4) major factors including age, mileage, repair &maintenance (R&M) cost, and condition of the body/mechanical components. A point total equaling or exceeding eleven (11) out of sixteen (16) indicates that the unit should be replaced. This skid -steer loader scored thirteen (13) points indicating that it should be replaced. The vehicle condition evaluation form and summary report are attached. 1 If the service life is extended, this piece of equipment will require a substantial financial investment. These costs are delineated on the attached vehicle evaluation form. the current book value of this skid -steer is $14,,000. The proposed replacement, a Bobcat model S76, is similar to the department's existing skid -steer loader but includes a backup camera for safety, stronger lifting capacity, as well as hand and foot controls for ease of operation. Included in this purchase is 30 -inch planer for asphalt/concrete milling/grinding and a bucket for material handling. The Village is eligible to purchase this piece of equipment through the Sourcewell contract joint purchasing agreement. This contract is publicly bid and satisfies the requirements of the Village of Mount Prospect Purchasing Policy. Delivery of the new vehicle is expected within (6) months of the purchase order. The Bobcat S76 skid -steer will be inspected by Atlas Bobcat of Yorkville, IL and delivered to the Mount Prospect Public Works facility. The skid -steer being replaced will be traded -in for $19,500. The purchase price indicated ($64,760.48) includes the $19,500.00 trade-in credit for the Village's existing skid -steer. Alternatives 1. Accept Sourcewell joint purchasing agreement bid result for the procurement of one (1) new Bobcat S76 skid -steer loader and attachments from Atlas Bobcat of Yorkville, Illinois in an amount not to exceed $64,760.48. 2. Action at the discretion of the Village Board.
