This vehicle is a 2017 Ford Explorer all -wheel drive (AWD) with approximately 100,821 miles. P-4 currently serves as a marked front line emergency vehicle and is utilized by the Patrol Section. Replacement Pollic Squad P-4 has been evaluated utilizing Public Work's detailed comprehensive replacement policy. The policy uses apoint-based criterion that rates the following four (4) major factors: age, mileage, repair and maintenance (R&M) costs, and condition of the body/mechanical components. A point total equaling or exceeding eleven (11) out of sixteen (16) indicates that the vehicle should be replaced. A copy of the Public Works Vehicle Examination Forms (Appendix A and B) are attached. Squad P-4 scored a total of 13 points, which indicates the vehicle is recommended for replacement. 1 Staff would like to replace this vehicle with a 2022 Ford Explorer all -wheel drive hybrid pursuit -rated vehicle. The Police Department has utilized Ford Explorers for the past 12 years, primarily as front line patrol vehicles. During this time, staff has found thea to be reliable. If approved, this would be the 4th hybrid vehicle in the Police Department's fleet. The Village is a member of the Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC),, which has pricing available through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC). The 2022 Ford Explorer all -wheel drive hybrid pursuit -rated vehicle is included in the Joint Purchasing Contract #204. This is a publicly bid contract that satisfies the procurement requirements of the Village of Mount Prospect's Purchasing Policy. Funding for the replacement of squad P-4 is provided in the 2021 Annual Budget on page 522 of the Community Investment Program section and listed under account number 061.60.90.00.1.708.660.003. The total budgeted amount for this purchase is $51,,000. The vehicle being replaced will be evaluated by Public works to determine whether or not it should be sold through GovDea Is. conn Internet auction or repurposed within the pillage as a pool car.
