Minutes – August 1, 2022
Mount Prospect Police Department
Village of Mount Prospect
Members in Attendance: Chris Gordon, Christina Greco, Brian Lambel, Patti Quill,
Fred Steinmiller, Brenda Sawyer, Alan Cervenka, Katie Cousino, Denise Peterson
Absent: Chris Frederick, Tarina Wimmer, Haley Schechter
1. Call to order: 7:03 pm
2. Citizens to be heard: None
3. Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve by Christina G.; Second by Alan

4. Current Financial Report:
i. P.O. Box Fee, Safety Vests, deposit for Cotillion
ii. Brian to sit down with Village re: our budget with the Village
iii. Motion to approve by Patti Q.; Second by Brenda S.

5. Current Business:
a. Community Bike Ride:
i. Fourth of July Recap & Discussion:
a. Brian to recap with Haley
ii. Family Bike Ride:
a. Aug 20th, Setup starts at 7:45am/8am, Check-in at 9:00 a.m.,
Kick-stands up at 9:30 a.m.
b. 45 people pre-registered, posters up, flyers ready to hand out at
nd
Aug 2 National Night Out; SEC members to grab mini-flyers
and do what we can to hand them out.
c. MPPD Greg Sill (“Officer Friendly”) is good to go; confirm CERT
attendance
d. Raffle Prizes: Katie has bike for raffle; other items: water bottles
(Lion’s Club sponsored), Chris looking at other raffle items that
may get donated. Wristbands.
e. Haley has a lot of items leftover from last year (sunglasses,
chalk (in bin at Art Studio in Lions Club room - Fred has key)
f. Waiver printed for on-site registration
g. Fred has arrows, but we should make sure we have enough for
all the turns that are needed.
h. Water, granola bars, bananas
i. PW is aware of the event and they should have horses, tent(s),
generator, extension cords, splitter, barricades…
j. Fred/Brian to get water cooler for water
k. SEC arrive at 8:00/8:15am
l. Brian to provide tax exempt letter to Katie/Chris
iii. Celebration of Cultures
a. Denise to report: Sept 10 – 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at RecPlex/Kopp Park;
SEC members to arrive at 8:00am to help setup (Meet at Rec Plex)
iv. Shining Starts Update (Feb 4, 2023)
i. Honor 2021 and 2022 winners at this year’s gala
ii. Patti Q. to chair
6. Open Floor/ Commission Share
i. Chris G. – Greg Sill sent Google map of bike route (but the
map will be adjusted because one piece of the route is private)
ii. All SEC correspondence to be via email (no text)
7. Next Meeting – Oct. 3, 2022, 7:00 p.m.
