Information
One of the Action Items in the Village's Strategic Plan is community events,
engagement and outreach - and with that, encouraging citizen participation and
expanding communication efforts. This Committee of the Whole meeting is taken
"On The Road" and being held at RecPlex [420 Dempster Street], in an effort to
focus on the south side of the Village. This discussion will be about the recent or
planned development, events, and other updates specifically for the area south of
Golf Road in Mount Prospect.
On the agenda to speak and/or answer questions from the audience are:
• Bill Cooney, Director of Community Development, will highlight progress the
Village has made on the Connect South Mount Prospect sub -area plan, the
recently adopted South Mount Prospect TIF, and development projects such
as the Mount Prospect Technology Campus at the former United Airlines
headquarters, and other projects.
• Bill Schroeder, Director of Building and Inspection Services, available to
answer any questions related to building permit and inspection processes as
well as environmental health.
• Sean Dorsey, Director of Public Works, will give an infrastructure
improvement update, which includes details/status of the Algonquin Road
shared use path and the potential Oakton Street water main extension
project.
• Esther Salutillo, Deputy Director of Human Services, will provide an update

on the Community Connection Center (1711 W. Algonquin Road), such as the
services and programs offered at this location as well as services offered at
Village Hall.
• Mike Eterno, Police Chief, will be in attendance to discuss meetings and
outreach done by the department such as beat meetings and special events.
• John Dolan, Fire Chief, will be available to address any questions of the
audience related to Fire/EMS provided by the Village.
In addition to the above, all members of the Village's Leadership Team will be
available to answer questions from the audience. Staff fluent in Spanish and in
Polish will be in attendance to assist in translation as needed.
This is an informal discussion to allow for any interested residents and business
owners to share their thoughts about anything related to south Mount Prospect.
Alternatives
1. Discuss the current development projects, policies, and events which focus
on the area south of Golf Road in the Village of Mount Prospect and hear from
attendees.
2. Action at the discretion of Village Board.
