ORDINANCE NO. 997
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING PROPERTY TO THE VILLAGE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT, WHICH PROPERTY IS COMMONLY
REFERRED TO AS THE SUNBEAM PROPERTY LOCATED
ALONG RAND ROAD.
WHEREAS, a written petition has been filed with the
Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect by Adolph
Stereenz and Lillian Sterbenz, being sole owners of record
of the hereinafter described land and territory, for annexation
to the Village of Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, said land and territory is not within the corpo-
rate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the Village
of Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, Adolph Sterbenz and Lillian Sterbenz are the sole
electors residing thereon and have joined in said petition for
annexation and have consented thereto, and
WHEREAS, said petition is under oath and in all respects
complies with the requirements of the Statutes in such cases
made and provided, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, have examined said
petition and believes it to be to the best interest of said
Village that said land and territory be annexed thereto:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That all land and territory described in said
petition to wit:
That part lying North of Rand Road of the West 140 feet
of the East 280 feet of the Northwest quarter of the
Northeast quarter of Section 34, Township 42 North,
Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, except
the North 400 feet thereof, in Cook County, Illinois, as
shown on Plat of Survey, dated October 26, 1963, by
Robert E. Frederick, an Illinois Registered Land Surveyor.
which territory is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect,
is not within the limits of any municipality, contains electors
who have joined in said petition and is not presently in any
incorporated municipality, be and the same is hereby annexed to
the Village of Mount Prospect so that hereafter said territory
shall be included within the boundary lines and limits of said
Village, as is by law in such case made and provided.

Section 2. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount
Prospect is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this
ordinance together with an accurate plat of said territory with
the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
