ORDINANCE No. 1042
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MOUNT PROSPECT ZONING
ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, acting as a Zoning
Commission at a public meeting duly called and held according to law
(Appeal No. 65-2), did conduct a public hearing on the hereinafter
ordinance amending its Zoning Ordinance, on the 29th day of January,
1965; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees considered it
to be to the best interest of the Village of Mount Prospect that the
Mount Prospect Zoning Ordinance be amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That Section 19 of the Mount Prospect Zoning
Ordinance be and is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 19 B-3 District.
In the B-3 District the only uses which may hereafter
be established are:
1. Uses permitted in the B-2 Districts.
2. Lodging house or hotel, with sleeping rooms
in number not exceeding one (1) for each
five hundred (500) feet of lot area.
3. Retail business and retail service establish-
ments except uses 2 to 13 inclusive of Section
22 and except other uses designated as special
uses in paragraph 14 hereof.
4. Animal hospital.
5. Retail greenhouse or nursery.
6. Restaurant, (except drive-in variety) tavern
or confectionary.
7. Undertaking or funeral parlor.
8. Advertising sign, billboard or poster panel.
9. Private music, dancing, business, vocational
or other school or colleges.
10. Lodge hall, temple or private club.
11. Bus passenger station.
12. Temporary carnival or circus, operating not
.l.onger than ten (10) days.

13. Parking lots for private self-propelled Dassen-
ger automobiles in operating condition.
14. Auto laundries, commercial swimming pools,
theaters, drive-in restaurants and drive-
in food establishments, trampoline centers,
miniature golf courses, golf driving ranges
amusement arcades, game courses, skating
rinks, and other commercial amusement plaCES
as special uses only."
Section 2. That Section 31 of the Mount Prospect Zoning
Ordinance be amended by adding thereto the following definition:
"DRIVE-IN RESTAURANT AND DRIVE-IN FOOD ESTABLISHMENT

A food service establishment with or without
interior facilities for eating, which caters to
and permits the consumption of food either in
customer's automobile parked on the premises or
in any other designated area on the premises
outside the establishment where the food is so
prepared."

Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according
to law.
PASSED this 16 day of March, 1965.
