Usnik updated the Commission on some of the new things going on in Sevres. Members
who have traveled to Sevres shared experiences with those members who have not yet
visited our Sister City.
d. Open positions —The Commission currently has two open positions.
V. Mayor's Comments: Mayor Paul Hoefert
a. Mayor Hoefert said he enjoyed meeting the people from Sevres. He shared what he has
learned about the Sister Cities organization as a whole, and Mt. Prospect's involvement
with Sevres. He stated that he is fully supportive of the Commission.

VII. Committee Reports:
a. French Market—Judy McGinnis. During the month of March, approximately 100
invitations were sent to vendors. Ten venders responded, and those early responders
will receive free tents. Information will be re -sent to vendors who did not yet respond.
Fee payment for booths will be handled through Eventbrite. It is still uncertain on which
side of the tracks the Commission's booth will be located. Judy McGinnis has already re-
priced some items that didn't sell last time. Commission members who have items that
could be sold at the French Market should hold onto them and bring them to the event.
VIII. Open Discussion
a. July 4 Parade —The parade will be held in 2021. Denise Rano presented the idea of
ordering umbrellas to shield participating members from the heat. Arlene Juracek
moved to purchase 15 umbrellas and Judy McGinnis seconded. Denise Rano will
oversee the purchase.
b. Celebration of Cultures —The event is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 29,
2021. Trustee Colleen Saccotelli will purchase the giveaways.
c. Arlene Juracek invited Commission members to her house for a celebration of Bastille
Day following the next meeting.
d. Denise Rano inquired whether we should plan any other events, specifically Trivia Night.
There are concerns that it is the most popular event and is usually crowded. Bob Usnik
suggested keeping on our radar because everything depends on COVID conditions.
e. To mask or not to mask was discussed because situations are changing constantly. The
Commission will follow mandates from the State as it applies to our events.
IX. Adjournment: Denise Rano moved to adjourn, and Ed Juracek seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 6:44 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
