5.2 Motion to accept the Joint Purchasing Contract for the purchase of 54 RAB Haybay LED lighting fixtures and associated fixture trim for an amount not to exceed $24,827.58.
t.f)AAI1C 1d'+rniect Subject Motion to accept the Joint Purchasing Contract for the purchase of 54 RAB Haybay LED lighting fixtures •'associatedfor an amount not toexceed $24,,827.58. Meeting May 18, 2021 - REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE BOARD - Fiscal Impact true Dollar Amount $24,827.58 Budget Source Capital Improvement Fund Category CONSENT AGENDA Type Consent Information In the current budget, there are sufficient funds available to procure new lighting fixtures for the Public Works facility's main garage lighting. Village staff will perform the actual replacement of the lighting fixtures. The lighting in the main public works garage is original to the building construction (1988) and has met its useful life expectancy. The current lighting fixtures are energy inefficient high pressure sodium luminaires that require frequent maintenance. In addition, replacement parts are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Staff has researched various lighting options and has determined the most cost effective and energy efficient lighting is a LED type of lighting similar to the upgraded lighting installed in the Emerson Street Parking Deck. The recent LED conversion at the parking deck has been reliable and completely maintenance free. The main garage of the Public Works facility will require the removal and replacement of 54 light fixtures. The specified fixture is a RAB fixture, considered to be one of the industry leaders in LED technology. The fixture is rated for a 100,000 hour lifespan with a 5 -year 1 warranty. The energy savings for this conversion will not be gained by a reduction in wattage as the RAB fixture is the same wattage as the existing fixtures (180 watts), but rather by the installation of smart controls. The RAB fixture is manufactured with smart controls and sensors that have the ability to dim or shut off based on occupancy. The ability to dim or shut off based on occupancy could result in 68% reduction in energy consumption compared to the existing light fixtures. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) has an existing contract (SPC #192) with Graybar for electrical lighting. The Village is part of SPC. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative contract satisfies the public bidding requirements of the Village of Mount Prospect purchasing policy. The Village is pursuing grant opportunities through Com Ed's Energy Efficiency Program. Alternatives 1. Accept the joint bid results for the purchase of 54 RAB Haybay LED fixtures and associated fixture trim. 2. Action at the discretion of the Village Board. Staff Recommendation Accept the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) joint purchasing bid result (SPC #192) and authorize the purchase of 54 RAB Haybay LED fixtures and associated fixture trim from Graybar of St. Louis, Missouri at a cost not to exceed $24,827.58.
