William Broderick MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES January ,,.8,, 1 11974„ CALL TO ORDER Mayor Teichert called the meeting to order at 7:40 P. M. INVOCATION Trustee Scholten,gave the invocation. ROLL CALL Present upon roll call: Anderson Gustus Richardson Scholten Teichert Arrived at 8:15 P. M. Link Arrived at 8:45 P. M. Hendricks This was a special meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect called by Mayor Teichert on Monday, January 7, 1974 pursuant to Chapt. 2. "The Board of Trustees” Section 2.103 "Meetings." of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect. The purpose of the meeting was to receive authorization to re- tain Marlin Smith of Ross, Hardies, O'Keefe and Babcock as oust - side counsel to proceed with the necessary steps, statutory or otherwise, in behalf of the Village of Mount Prospect to get a determination of the conflict of annexations by Mount Prospect and Des Plaines along Route 83. 1 Trustee Gustus, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to author- ize Marlin Smith of Ross, Hardies, O'Keefe and Babcock to act as attorney for the Village in that capacity. Upon roll call: Ayes: Anderson Gustus Link Richardson Scholten Nays Hendricks Motion carried. It was the sense of the Board that a committee comprised of members of the Board meet with representatives of the City Council of Des Plaines to amicably discuss boundaries and Trustees Link, Hendricks, Richardson and Gustus volunteered to be on such a committee. Mayor Teichert took the formation of this committee under advisement and stated he would contact the Mayor of Des Plaines. ADJOURNMENT Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Hendricks, moved the meeting be adjourned. Time: 9:00 P. M. Unanimous. DONALD W. GOODMAN, Village Clprk
