ORDINANCE NO,
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR LATE CHARGES
FOR BUSINESS LICENSES
WHEREAS, there have been a considerable number of deliquenci,es in
business license payments since the implementation of the 1971 Busi-
ness Code (Chapter 11); and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has reviewed the fee schedule and pay-
ment provisions in said Business Code and has recommended to the Pre-
s *dent and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect that

late fees be charged and other remedies added to the said Code; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect have reviewed the recommendation of the Finance Committee
and believe the same to be in the best interests of the Village of
Mount Prospect;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEE
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: i
SECTION ONE: That Article XXXI of Chapter 11 (the Business Code) of
the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by adding thereto two new sections
numbered Section 11.3107 and Section 11.3108, and changing the num-
bering of the existing Section 11.3107 to Section 11.3109; so that
hereafter the said Sections 11.3107, 11-3108 and 11.3109 shall be
and read as follows:
"Section 11.3107. Late ''.Payments.
A. Whenever an application for a renewal of a license pre-
viously issued for the prior fiscal year is received by
the Village Clerk between July 1 and August 31 of any
given fiscal year, the Village Clerk is hereby authorized
to compute the license fee for such license at the rate
of one hundred twenty percent (120%) of the license fee
heretofore iesignated in this Article.
B. Whenever an application for a renewal of a license pre-
viously issued for the prior fiscal year is received by
the Village Clerk after August 31 of any given fiscal year,
the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to compute the
license fee for such 1icense at the rate of one hundred
fifty percent (150%) of the license fee heretofore designated
in this Article.
Section 11.3108. Enforcement.
A. Any business, for which a license is required under the
terms of this Chapter, which operates for a period in
excess of six (6) months without a current business license
shall be closed by the Village Manager, who shall forthwith
cause proceedings to be filed against the principals of such
non -licensed business in accordance with Section 11.3201 of
this Chapter.
B. No such business closed by the Village Manager as prescribed
hereinabove shall be allowed to open until such time as all
license fees for such business and all other monies owed by
such business to the Village of Mount Prospect have been paid
in full.
Section 11.3109. Exclusions. The terms and provisions of this
Cha-p—ter shall not be made applicable to a building or premises
or portion thereof the principal use of which is for the practice
of medicine or dentistry or similar type of medical professional
personal services, the practice of law, financial institution, the
operation of general office activities; provided, however, such
activities shall be subject to the terms and provisions of this
Chapter shall not be made applicable to any activity carried on
or operated by a government institution or by any eleemosynary
institution or organization or person or owner.
SECTION TWO: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from an ater its passage, approval, and publication in the manner
prescribed by law.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE CONTROLLING SIGHT -DISTANCES AT UNCONTROLLED
OR YIELD INTERSECTIONS
WHEREAS, the Safety Commission of the Village of Mount Prospect has
reviewed the condition of our streets and intersections along with the
properties adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Safety Commission has recommended to the President and
Board of Trustees that an ordinance controlling sight -distances at
uncontrolled or yield intersections be adopted to further carry out a
program of traffic safety within the corporate limits of the Village of
Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the Fire and Police Committee of the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Mount Prospect and the Fire and Police Committee of
the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect has recommended
that the President and Board of Trustees concur with the recommendation
of the Safety Commission; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect have reviewed the matter herein and have determined that the
same is in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT) COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Section 9.501 of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect
of 1957,as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended in its
entirety by reducing the height of shrubs and other obstructions to
thirty-six (3611) inches and by adding additional sight -distance regu-
lations thereto, so that hereafter the said Section 9.501 shall be and
read as follows:
"Section 9.501 PlantiEk.
A. It shall be unlawful to plant any tree or shrub in any
public street or parkway or other public place without
having first secured a permit therefor. It shall be
unlawful to plant, maintain, or permit to grow any tree,
shru,b,, or planting of any type within six (61) feet of
any fire hydrant. Applications for such permits shall
be made to the Clerk, and shall be referred by him to
the Village Manager, or his duly authorized representa-
tive. No shrub shall be planted, maintained or allowed
to grow to a height of more than thirty-six (3611) inches.
Trees shall be planted at least fifty (50') feet apart.
All trees and shrubs so planted shall be placed subject
to the direction and approval of the Village Manager, or
his duly authorized representative, and shall become the
property of the Village of Mount Prospect.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING PROPERTY LOCATED WEST OF THE
PARK DISTRICT COUNTRY CLUB ADJOINING OJIBWA TRAIL
WHEREAS, a written petition under oath signed by the owners of
record of land hereinafter described has been filed with the Village
Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect requesting that said land be
annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, all electors residing within the said property to be
annexed have affixed their signatures indicating their consent; and
WHEREAS, the said land is not within the corporate limits of any

muniicpality, but is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect) n
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect find and believe it to be in the best interests of the
said Village that said land and territory be annexed thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SEC TI ON ONE: That all land and territory legally described
as follows:
The South 1/2 of Lot 3 and Lot 4 (except the South
11 feet thereof) together with the 33.0 feet lying
East of and adjoining said South 1/2 of Lot 3 and
Lot 4 (except the South 11 feet thereof) all in
Willson and Florence's Country Club Subdivision of
the East 233.0 feet (as measured on the North line)
of the Northwest 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of the
Southwest 1/4 of Section 11, Township 41 North,
Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in
Cook County, Illinois;
an a ' ccurate map of which territory is attached hereto and made a part
hereof by this reference be and the same is hereby annexed to the Vil-
lage of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois.
SECT IONTWO: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Pros-

of Cook County, Illinois, a certified copy of this Ordinance, together
with an accurate map of the territory annexed.
