MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND,BOARD OF TRUSTEES February 29, 1972 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Teichert called the meeting to order at 8:20 P.M. INVOCATION Trustee Anderson gave the invocation. ROLL CALL Present upon roll call Ahern Anderson Furst Monroe Richardson Schol ten Teichert This meeting was called by Mayor Teichert to consider possible action to authorize the Mayor and Village At- torney to sign an amended Consent Decree in Case No. 65CH5300, Chicago Title and Trust Company, Trustee under Trust Agreement dated May 4, 1955 and known as Trust No. 37533, Plaintiff vs. Village of Mount Prospect, a muhi- cipal corporation, Defendant. ........... Attorney Howard Borde, representing the developers of the proposed complex, presented some modifications of the pro- posed amended Consent Decree as drafted. After revisions in the draft were discussed, Mr. Roy Gottlieb, of Kenroy, advised the Board the developers were contemplating a possible change in Schoenbeck Road at the southerly end, realigning a portion, and further, to consider widening to four lanes. Signat ization at Rand Road was briefly discusse-d and Mr. Gottlieb was advised that when the traffic load would warrant such a need, the State would require a light at the intersection of Rand and Schoenbeck. Sidewalks around the perimeter of the property were not part of the plan as presented. It was the contention of the developers that inasmuch as walks were designed for the interior of the project to place others parallel along Rand Road, Elmhurst Road, Camp McDonald Road and Euclid would be superflous and costly. It was the sense of the Board that sidewalks were for the general public and school children would be protected while walking along the heavily-traficked roads. Discussion on this matter was deferred for further review with the adminis- tration. ry Another problem developed when the engine ' ers took soil , borings for the purpose of laying sanitary sewers and it was determined that the ground was not suitable because at the required depth there was sand and water, which could not sustain the pipe. Alternatives were sug ested.-' 1) a gravity line on the east side of Route 83; 2 a gravity line at a lesser depth,, with a lift station and fewer buildings; 3) a gravity, line up to Euclid. Engineers for the develop-ers requested time to investigate the feasibility of the above alternatives and others and report back to the Board.
