ORDINANCE NO. 4737
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL
PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, it has been determined that it is no
longer necessary, useful, or in the best interest of the Village of Mount Prospect to retain
ownership of a 1982 Duplex/FMC ladder truck; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect that the best interests of the Village would be served by the sale of
the personal property being the subject of this Ordinance to the highest bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: In accordance with the provisions of Section 65 5/11-76-4 of the Illinois
Compiled Statutes, the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect find that the
item of personal property being the subject of this Ordinance owned by the Village of
Mount Prospect is no longer useful or necessary and the best interests of the Village will
be served by its sale.
SECTION TVVO: That the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect did on
August 2, 1994 adopt Ordinance No. 4661 authorizing the sale of the 1982 Duplex/FMC
ladder truck and inasmuch as no bids were received for this piece of equipment, the
Village engaged the services of a broker to assist in the sale of this piece of equipment.
The broker was successful in locating a buyer for the piece of equipment being the
subject of this Ordinance for the sales price of $100,000, which the Village has deemed
an appropriate and reasonable sales price.
SECTION THREE: The corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby
authorize the Village Manager to accept the offer to purchase one 1982 Duplex/FMC
ladder truck in the amount of $100,000 and upon receipt of the full amount offered, the
Village Manager is authorized to transfer title of sale 1982 Duplex/FMC ladder truck to
the purchaser.
SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
