IV. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT REPORT
The Northwest Municipal Conference Solid Waste Task Force
has recently released a site analysis and management plan
for the disposal of municipal solid waste. This report
culminates a series of reports prepared by Conference
staff and consulting firm which together comprises an
extensive review of the solid waste problem facing north
and northwest Cook County.
The planned closing of several nearby regional landfills'
presents serious concerns for Mount Prospect residents,
since the use of outlying landfill sites would result in
drastic cost 'increases. Other technologies for dealing

ment of a landfill in the Poplar Creek Forest Preserve
which is within the corporate limits of Hoffman Estates.

Attached is a memo from the Director of Code Enforcement
which summarizes the changes, including some adjustments
in the fee schedule and a copy of the revised Code
provisions. Captain Les Auollett will be available at
the meeting to answer any questions.
VI., GARAGE SALE ORDINANCE
Attached is a memo from the Village Clerk and a draft
Ordinance which proposes that the Village regulate the
frequency of residential garage sales and requires a
permit for such sales at no cost to the homeowner.
