2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING SPECIFIED
VARIATIONS FOR PROPERTY AT 621 N. MAIN STREET
This Ordinance will grant the variations requested
and approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals and
Village Board.

B41 Ist reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SCHEDULE IV
OF CHAPTER 18 (TRAFFIC CODE)
In accordance with the recommendations of the
Safety Commission, with the concurrence of the
Village Board, this ordinance will authorize the
placement of several STOP signs.

C. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9
ENTITLED "STREET AND SIDEWALKS" OF THE VILLAGE CODE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance will change various requirements
relative to planting trees in parkways, etc.,, as
well as setting forth the distance allowed between
newly planted trees.

D. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 21.620
ENTITLED "PARKWAY TREE DEPOSIT" OF CHAPTER 21 OF
THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance sets forth the fee for parkway trees.

E. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE ATTENDING CHAPTER 16
ENTITLED "DEVELOPMENT CODE" OF THE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT
In 'line with the two preceeding Ordinances, this
Ordinance reflects the revised requirements for
landscaping.

I. NEW BUSINESS
A. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VIII
OF CHAPTER 4 ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF POLICE" OF
THE VILLAGE CODE
This Ordinance establishes the position of
Community Service Officer, previously known as
Police Assistant, as well as setting forth the
duties and responsibilities of these civilian,
unarmed representatives of the Police Department.
B. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VII
OF CHAPTER 5 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance expands the authority of the Fire
and Police Commission within the terms of Home
Rule and establishes selection standards, promotion
procedures, and other matters of the Commission.
C. The Zoning Board of Appeals met September 24, 1981,
and submitted the following recommendations:
1. ZBA 17-A-81 and ZBA 18 -SU -81, 217 N. Stevenson
These cases represent requests for a text
amendment and special use to enable petitioner
to place a wind energy conversion system
(windmill) approximately 115 feet high, in
the rear yard of his property. Zoning Board
recommends denial of the requests.
2. ZBA 19 -SU -81, 1904 Cholo Lane
Petitioner requests a special use permit to
operate a day care home. Zoning Board of
Appeals recommends approval of request.
3. ZBA 20-Z-81, 302 E. Northwest Hwy, (Schimming Oil)
This request is for B-4 zoning from B-3, in
order to bring existing use into conformity, as
required when existing use is expanded. Zoning
Board of Appeals recommends granting a special
use to permit the request.
4. ZBA 21-V-81, 719 Dresser Dr.
Petitioner's request is to permit expansion of
an existing driveway. The Zoning Board of
Appeals recommends approval of the request.
5. ZBA 22-A-81, Amendment to Zoning Ordinance
This request is presented by the staff to
provide for a zoning compliance review fee.
The Zoning Board of Appeals recommends
approval of the request.
X. MANAGER'S REPORT
A. Employee parking at Fannie May parking lot
B. Bid:
1. Street reconstruction with pavement widening
and new storm sewer, a total distance of
1,320 feet., 0.25 miles on Prospect Avenue,
from Emerson to School Street.
C. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.103
ENTITLED "POWERS AND DUTIES" PERTAINING TO THE
PURCHASING POWER OF THE VILLAGE MANAGER., OF CHAPTER 4
ARTICLE I IOF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance amends our local code to reflect
recently adopted State Legislation raising the
amount requiring the bidding process from $2,500
to $4,000.
