The petitioner has requested that this case be
continued to April 3, in order to give the petitioner
an opportunity to meet with the neighbors. Notices
were sent to those persons voicing objections at the
Zoning Board of Appeals.
B. ZBA 56-V-84, 1825 Magnolia Lane
2nd reading of AN ORDI14ANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FOR
CERTAIN PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1825 MAGNOLIA LANE
This Ordinance grants a side yard variation and floor
area ratio of 0.32 instead of the permitted 0.30 in
order to construct an addition to a single family home.
The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended 6-0 in favor
of granting the variations. (Exhibit A)
C. ZBA 2 -SU -85, 828 F. Rand Road
lst reading of AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
A SPECIAL USE TO ALLOW A BANQUET HALL AND AN ADDITIONAL
FREE STANDING SIGN ON PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS
828 EAST RAND ROAD IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance permits a banquet hall instead of a
cinema on this Planned Unit Development as well as
permitting two free standing signs on one frontage
instead of one sign. The Ordinance also contains
language holding the Village harmless since the
petitioner will have a canopy over an easement, and
language pertaining to the improvement of the entire
parking lot. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended
6-0 to grant the variations. (Exhibit B)
D. ZBA 8-V-85, Opus Corporation
2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FOR
CERTAIN PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS KENSINGTON CENTER
This Ordinance grants a height variation to permit an
office building not to exceed 55 feet high, -rather
than the permitted 30 feet. The Zoning Board of Appeals
voted 2 in favor and 4 against, therefore denying the
request. (Exhibit C)
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 1985
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM
This Resolution endorsing the he programs for 1985 and
is required by HUD in order to apply for the $309,786
grant. (Exhibit D,'
B. A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL
PURPOSES AT GOLF AND MEIER ROADS
In line with the Meier Road improvement, a traffic
signal is scheduled to be installed at this intersection.
Since this is a Village project, it is necessary for the
property owner on the south side of Golf Road to grant
an easement in order to install and maintain the
necessary traffic signal equipment. (Exhibit E:
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING AN EASEMENT
FOR STOPM SEWER PURPOSES WITHIN THE KENSINGTON CENTER
FOR BUSINESS
This Resolution also accepts an easement necessary for
the installation of a storm sewer on Lots 401 and 301-B
in the Kensington Center for Business. This storm
sewer will eventuall-N7 be turned over to the Village
therefore an easement is required for access. (Exhibit F"
D. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance authorizes the off -set printing equipment
to be sold to the highest bidder. With the acquisition
of the 9500 Xerox we no longer have use for the
printing equipment and supplies. (Exhibit G)
E. Safety Commission Report
The Safety Commission met on February 4th and considered
a request from a resident to prohibit parking on
Northwest Highway at Dale. The Safety Commission
recommends NO PARKING -ANYTIME on the north side of
Northwest Highway 150 feet west of Dale Avenue.
A. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND THE FOREST
RIVER FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
This Agreement authorizes emergency fire and ambulance
service to this District. The Agreement has been
amended to include language as previously discussed
by the Village Board. (Exhibit H)
