AN ORDINANCE ALL<>>1ING A VARIATION FOR POLE-MOUNTED WARNING SIRENS
APPROXIMATELY b2 FT. IN HEIGIIT FOR CIVIL DEFENSE ALARM SIGNALS
LOCATED AT MOUNT PROSPECT WELL #5 EAST OF HIGHLAND STREET AND
LOCATED AT WELL #11 AT MOUNT PROSPECT COUNTRY CLUB
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect
heretofore on February 2b, 1967 conducted a public hearing, pursuant to
proper legal notice, under Case No. 61-6A, for a zoning use variation
request to be located on certain properties hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals has determined that the zoning use
variation request for the installation of pole-mounted warning sirens
approximately b2 ft. in height for Civil Defense alann signals will not in
anyway endanger the safety, welfare, or health of the surrounding area; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect
has detennined that the said variation is in the best interests of the
residents of the Village of Mount Prospect and should be granted; and
WHEREAS, the Building Committee of the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect did meet and detennine that said recommendation
of the Board of Appeals regarding Case No. 61-6A would be in the best
interests of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect have detennined that the best interests of the Village of
Mount Prospect will be attained by the granting of the zoning use variation
requested under Case No. 61-6A regarding the subject properties;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Civil Defense of the Village of Mount
Prospect is hereby authorized to install pole-mounted waring sirens approx-
imately b2 ft. in height for Civil Defense alarm signals on the legally
described properties contained in Section 2 herein.
SECTION TWO: A zoning use variation is hereby granted for the
installation of pole-mounted warning sirens approximately b2 feet in height
on the following two parcels of property:
(A) The v.lest 30b. 38 feet of the South 215 feet of the
West 515;b3 feet of the Northwest ~ of the N. E. ~ of
Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois,
and
(B) commencing at a point described as being 822.19 feet
west of the east line of Lot 18 and 1045.34 feet south of
the north line of Lot 18; thence Southwesterly along a line
55 feet to a point which is 858.39 feet west of the east
line of Lot 18 and 1085.99 feet south of the North line of
Lot 18; thence northwesterly along a line at right angles
to the last described line 192 feet to a point which is
1002.92 feet west of the east line of Lot 18 and 960.82 feet
south of the north line of Lot 18; thence northeasterly at
right angles to the last described line 102 feet;
thence southeasterly at right angles to the last described
line 110 feet, thence southwesterly along a line 55.97 feet
to a point which intersects a line 65 feet northeasterly of
and parallel to the line described as 192 feet in length;
thence southeasterly bo feet along the line which is 65 feet
northeasterly of and parallel to the line described as 192
feet in length; thence southwesterly 10 feet along a line at
right angles to the last described line to the place of
beginning being a part of Lot 18 in the Northwest Hills Country
Club, being a subdivision of part of the southwest ~ of
Section 11, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION THREE: The zoning use variation granted herein shall be
in full force and effect so long as same is under jurisdiction and control
of the Civil Defense of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
