MIKE ARTWOHL CALL TO ORDER Chairwoman Sarah Corcoran called the March 07, 2007 Youth Commission meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. in the first floor training room of the Police and Fire Headquarters, Mount Prospect, Illinois. ROLL CALL Secretary Cindy Rumore called the roll. VSJ MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES MARCH 07, 2007 PAGE TWO APPROVAL OF MINUTES Steve Long, seconded by Nicole Logisz, moved to approve the minutes of the February 07, 2007 Youth Commission meeting with typing correction. Motion carried by unanimous approval. GUEST Mr. Mike Artwohl, father of Michael and Timothy, attended the meeting. PUBLIC RELA nONS COMMITTEE Paul Berauer, Brent Busse Paul Berauer advised he and Brent Busse attended a Coffee with Council meeting and spoke with Village officials on behalf of the Youth Commission. Angelo Campos attended the Committee of the Whole meeting to observe. Youth Commission members signed up to attend upcoming Village meetings. YOUTH SERVICES AND PROGRAMS COMMITTEE Steve Long, Angelo Campos, Michael Higginson, Andrew Steinweg YOUTH RESOURCE CATALOG Steven Long continues to update the Youth Resource Catalog. He is checking phone numbers and contacts, determining whether the organizations listed are active or not, and will advise when it is completed. RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE Sarah Corcoran, Michael Artwohl, Timothy Artwohl, Nicole Logisz, Alyssa Hillman Sarah Corcoran to discuss future Youth Commission recruitment with Mayor Wilks at an upcoming meeting with a potential new member. Members discussed ideas to recruit new members: attend an area school board meeting, create a flyer for distribution to local schools, library, park district, etc., school announcements, newspaper ads, have applications available at schools, contact National Honor Society groups. BICYCLE HELMET COMMITTEE Andrew Steinweg, Derek Steinweg, Brent Busse Brent Busse to contact Mrs. Dix to discuss Capannari's participation in the Bicycle Helmet Program and advise members at the April meeting. VSJ MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES MARCH 07, 2007 PAGE THREE OLD BUSINESS LIBRARY DISPLAY CASE Alyssa Hillman and Nicole Logisz set up the Teen Zone display case at the Mount Prospect Public Library for the month of March 2007. MOTION TO ADJOURN Paul Berauer, seconded by Michael Artwohl, moved to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried by unanimous approval.
