\tJHEREAS II our great nation toda,y 1s involved \'Jlth and confronted
with the most critical$ most difficult and most perplexing problems, both
foreign and domestic, in its proud and independent histoI"lJ; and
WHEREAS II we are nOV-l approaching the 194th anniversary of the
first declaration of our national principles of freedem and liberty; and
WHEREAS jl this cherished tradition of expressirl"g pride and
patriotism in aUI' nation has become both a tradition and a moving force
in guiding us toward solutions to our national problems,
NOv.l, THEFEFDRE, BE IT FESOLVED that the Village of ~I!ount Prospect
hereby affirms its support of HONOR AI'iJERICA DAY to be observed on the
"Fourth of July" J) 1970 $ and urges all of the cities and communities in
this nation to unite in this special celebratia."1 of American spirit and
respect for individual libert;y'; and
BE IT FUR'IHER RESOLVED that the Village of Mount Prospect supports
an effort to encourage the traditional ringing of bells ~ ,~g'""Of
,~. and other appropriate devices for three minutes beginning at
11 :00 a. m. on the "Fourth of July" 11 1970, as a positive indicator of the
rededication of the people of America to the precepts of unity and support
and patriotism in this great land.
