HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 12-71 05/04/1971 RESOLU-rICN NO.. ]2-71 A RESOLurION BY THE VILLAGE OF r~IOUNT PROSPEGr OB.JE(''TING TO THE REZa\fING OF R-4 nSIi\l'GIE FA.i.VD:LY RESIDENCE DISTRIGr" TO R-5 uGEJ:.JERAL RESIDEi\l'CE DISTRIGr OF CER- TAIN PROPERlY IDCATED ON THE WEST SHE OF RIVER ROAD: DESIGi\fATED BY THE COOK COUNTY ZOi\JL\TGBOARD Q.E.:!PPEALS ASDOCKE'1B#1923.AND #1924. . wBEREAS, the Petitione:r in Z..A.. #A-71-l7 and Z.A. #SU-7l-2 seeks a rezoning and special use of certain property located on the west side of Hi ver Road approx- iro.ately 180 feet north of Euclid Avenue from its R-4 (Single Family Residence District) to R-5 (General Residence District), w:hich cases were docketed by the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals as Docket;s #1923 and #1924; and W1lEREAS 11 the Village of Moun..t Prospect lies within one and one-half miles of the property soul#lt to be rezoned; and wrlEREAS, the Village of Ivlount Prospect appeared at a Public Hearing on said Dockets #1923 and #1924 on April 19, 1971, and then and there requested ti.rre w"ithin which to file its formal objection to the said proposed rezoning; and VlliEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect desire to exercise the authority to file a formal objection, which authority has been conferred upon them by Section 3158 of Chapter 34 of the Illinois Revised Statutes; NOi!, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDEJ\fT AND BOARD OF TRUS~:RS OF THE: VILLAGE OF MOUNr PROSPEGr, COOK COU"NTY, ILLII\!OIS ~ SEGrI01\l' 0i'\l'E: That the Village of I"bunt Prospect does hereby object to the :re- zoning described above and requests that the County Board vote in accord "\.\)'ith this official objectiQ,n~ and does hereby state the reasons for the said objec- tion as follows: (1) 'Ihat the :rezonil:1g of the subject tract would arrount to spot zoning in that: properties lying imlr.ediate1y to the south, north ~ ;md 'Illest of the subj ect parcel are presently zoned single family residential and are improved as such. (2) That the primary use of the property as described by the Petitioner is for the erection of eight buildings three stor>ies in heigtlt, con- taining 192 apartment units, for which water facilities have not been shown to be adequate. In fact, flO~J tests indicate that water sup- plies are insurricient to accom:nodate the Petitioner's proposed buildingp. 0) That the subject property. lies within a flood plain area and any con- struction as proposed would increase the possibility of flooding. SEcrION TwO: Tnat the Villag,e Clerk is hereby authorized to submit certified copies of this Resolution to the Clerk of Cook County for transmittal to the County Board and such other agencies are are deemed appropriate.
